Fighting Seasickness?

We just got back this morning. I always get seasick so I went prepared this time. DS12 and I both took one Bonine every morning and never even felt the littlest bit queazy. We went on that rough jet boat ferry on the Tulum excursion and a lot of people were getting sick, but we were totally fine. I LOVE Bonine and will take it for every cruise or boat trip from now on.

The ferry boat transfer to the mainland for Tulum always gets my daughter, its because it is bumpy, fast, low in the water, enclosed, you cannot look out at all, and little fresh air.

I now try to avoid these type of boats on booking shore trips.

Kind of on the same vein - I'm a little concerned about getting back on land and driving. We have a 15 hour drive home - should I plan for a shorter drive the first day or the second day because of the equilibrium issues? Should we be okay driving off the ship?

Got to say is 'know your own body' as everyone is different, but I would limit any drive to sensible levels, often you get up early last morning and as you havent worked for a while will be tired quickly.

I personally have never had any isse from being on ship to driving soon after.

We have a 17 hour drive back and I know from previous cruises I"ve gotten the vertigo thing after my cruises. I'm renting us condo for 5 days after the cruise, that way if i'm sick I can just hang out and get over it and the family can do things w/o me. Although in the past I only wore the patch, and took it off at the end of the cruise. This time I'm going to try the bonine and keep taking it even after I'm off and hopefully that will keep me well.

Honestly for us, it was better to keep moving. While we were driving and walking around Sea World and flying home we weren't too bad. It was after we got home and were sitting still that it was much worse.

Thanks, everyone.

So, I'll just plan on using the patch for the commute home and should be okay? Or switch to Bonine?

I kept mine on for 2 days after we got home. I don't think it really made much difference, but I was afraid it would be worse if I took it off.
