Fiestaware?

I have used Mega china .. They have free shipping and you can order the pieces you want- I like the mugs and they usually don't come with place setting. They have a good choice of colors and styles and the shipping was fast. The prices were as good as sale prices other places and I got exactly what I wanted.

Thanks! I ordered 10 different colors (4 piece place settings) today..also got a sugar bowl and a bread plate! Thanks everyone!

Probably a little late since you ordered it.... but we eat off of the small oval platters instead of the plates. Like it much better. I also live about 5 min from there.....:rolleyes1. They do have great tent sales. They sell their seconds which many have minimal flaws for 1/2 off at the outlet... and then they are discounted even more for the tent sales.

We bought 8 sets at Kohls.com right before Christmas. It was buy one get one and I found a 30% code here on the budget board. Total cost for the 8 sets plus shipping was like 90 bucks! A few sets did arrive with broken pieces (not sure what UPS did to the box lol) but we just returned them to our local Kohls for replacements. We love the fiestaware!

I love my fiesta wear, I have TONS of it, I have gotten mine on sale at Belk, also I live very close (2hrs or so) away from the company so I go there and they have an entire room of "scratch and dent" which is super cheap prices. Also keep your eye out at yard/garage sales this summer, I have found nice unique pieces for dirt cheap at those.

You might want to watch JC Penny for sales, I bought some pieces for a Bridal Shower in August, between the coupons, code for free shipping, etc I got a great deal.

So it doesn't chip easily? And if it does chip, do you see white, or is the color all the way through?

How do you like to mix your colors? Stick with two, three, or just as many as you like?

No, it doesn't chip easily at all. In fact, I don't think in the 8 years I've used it everyday I've had a piece chip. We are not gentle with the dishes either. I have broken a couple of pieces. (Amazing that we haven't broken more.) The color is not all the way through.

I have purchased through Mega China a few times. No problems and they have a great selection. Amazon now more often than not uses Mega China as a third party seller.

I have a set of every modern color every produced including the rare colors like lilac and apricot. My rare pieces are for display only but I mix and match all the rest. I usually divide my colors into two sets. One (darker) for fall/winter and the other (lighter) for spring/summer.

I bought some of mine at Kohls and got some at Macys for my wedding, but my mom found Zesty Dishes and ordered me some last Christmas and I have been ordering from there ever since. They also sometimes have 2nds sales. They will email you with what they have and you name your own price. For every $100 you spend you get a free item and they do sometimes have free shipping. They are really nice to work with. They are based in Ohio.

I have both red and blue pieces and have a few yellow serving dishes I got from the 2nds sale. All my plates are 2nds.

I have used a few pieces in the oven as well. I love to put out all my pieces at parties. It’s soooo colorful! We also have a set of the oval platters that work great at parties. I have 3 sets of bowls and a ton of different serving pieces. I wish I could display it in my kitchen. I do have my pitchers out on a shelf.

Okay, I think you all convinced me I need some Fiestaware! I looked at it at Kohl's today. I'm wondering what kind of glassware you use with it? I saw they have Fiestaware glasses that are striped, but I don't really care for them.

These aren’t glass, but last year Zesty Dishes has these plastic tumblers. They are made here in the US and are dishwasher safe and so far pretty indestructible. I got ruby and cobalt to go with my dishes. I really like them. I looked on the website, but not until I searched the name did I find them.

ColorWare by Bentley Plastic Drinkware

I got 20 ounce. 4 in ruby and 4 in cobalt from Zesty Dishes.

These tumblers will not crack or haze in the dishwasher. They are guaranteed for an entire lifetime. If your tumbler cracks, we'll replace it. They are sold in sets of four.

Here is another website where they are for sale.

I just love ours. They are so colorful. We went through several sets from Sams that would always after a few months would start leaking from the bottom. Probably from the dishwasher. But I just love these.

What does everyone think of the cup and saucer that comes in the set? The cup seems really small. Nobody in our house drinks coffee anyway. I'm actually thinking about just buying the dinner plate, salad plate and bowl all separately with no cups. Do you think I would end up paying more doing it that way?

We don't drink coffee either. I wouldn't get pieces you won't use. I bought the bigger 18oz mugs and I really like them.
If you finds sets for cheap than it would work. But I also find the bowls too small as well. We use the Fiests Extra Large - 1 Quart Serving bowls as our regular bowls. I also have the Chowder bowls which hold 18oz. They are nice. I do have 4 small bowls that I got free, but we very rarely use them.

Just wanted to weigh in on the chip question. In 25 years of everyday use we do not have one piece of fiesta that is chipped. I did crack one bowl but I dropped an iron skillet on it, we own more than 100 pieces of Fiesta.

If you decide on Fiesta it is well worth the investment.

This thread has made me want to go out and get some current colors, have my eye on plum and lemongrass.

We changed to fiestaware a few years ago. My husband calls them happy plates, because of the bright colors. No white or black for us, it's the rule. We bought our first sets at Kohl's. At one time Kohl's had the matching flateware. We have one place setting of that. I'm not to interested in the flatware. I too have used zestydishes. Boston Store, in my area, has Christmas patterns, so I have a few pieces of that as well. I haven't been to Boston Store in a while, but they used to have the glassware and some unique pieces as well. For example, the smiley yellow salad plate and dog bowls.

I was thinking the same thing. I like the ones with the mugs better, but how many mugs do you need. They seem to multiply in my house.

My husband has banned me from the DIS.... cause I told him I want these plates. (I've needed new dinnerware for over 3 years now...we're using cracked cheap stuff right now)

When he asked me where I saw them...I told him I haven't in person yet...but the DIS said they are pretty durable....and I can find them on sale at Kohl's sometimes.

He took away the laptop :lmao:

I do love the look of them, and the fact that I can go crazy with the color combinations.

Thanks for the websites and hints everyone :)

I have the 30% off code for Kohls and free shipping brings a place setting down to 18.89. Plus, a set of eight comes to $151, and they have the Kohls cash deal now, so that is $30 Kohls cash back.
