I'll second creditkarma.com I paid for my score through Myfico.com and got the same score from creditkarma for free. They don't require a cc or anything.

I have been using creditkarma since Clark Howard linked it from his site a couple of weeks ago. It was hassle free to sign up, and is accurate. It also has not lowered my score though I've checked it a half dozen times.

Do you happen to have an AMEX? Certain AMEX cards offer a perk of a free credit report and score.

I've always wondered if it was accurate. Thanks for the info (& AlexTina). My credit karma score is lower than when I last knew it, but that was like 4 years ago. Of course, I don't know why it would have gone down.

If you have a mortgage, call your current provider and ask about refinancing and say you don't know your score, and they'll usually pull it up for you. That's what ours did.

Just suck it up and pay the 5-10 bucks for your score. Go to annualcreditreport.com and get a free report and then pay the money for the score. That is the best way. It does not lower your score to check your score yoursellf. While free, it will, however, lower your score to have a potential creditor pull it as it appears you are seeking additional credit.
