Fibromyalgia Thread

It frustrates me the way doctors treat patients sometimes. The doctor I worked for was a real jerk.

We are freezing here! It is supposed to get down to 12 tonight. Friday & Saturday we got 9 inches of snow. That is a LOT for us. We don't usually get more than a inch or two in a year. I love the snow but as the storm front was coming in my body could really feel it.

Hope everyone is doing well! :grouphug:

That is Awesome! I can't tell you how seeing you having a great day made me feel better!

Stress level here to the max at the moment, my dog and one of my cats have been having major health problems. I just have to work hard to prevent the inevitable crash.....

Oh and my son got diagnosed with Celiac Disease last week. (Boy would he be mad to know that I talked about the pets first... oops didn't mean to do that) That makes me and both my kids - wonder if my DH regrets that he married someone with hidden genes that would affect both his children and force him into a gluten free world. My daughter saw a shirt online that says "Honorary Celiac thanks to my wife" Maybe I should get it for him!

Anyhow, I am on cat intensive care post op duty for the weekend with my Izzadore so post lots so I have something to read!

Stay pain free and warm!

Erika

That is the sucky part about fibro - you just feel "not good" or "crappy" or "sore" in a non-specific way. And really really tired.

I have been tired most of my life. lol But the last few years has put a whole new spin on it.

Hope you feel better soon.:goodvibes

Tigg,

I am glad you are feeling better. Getting your hair done is great! I love it!!

Eduke,

I am sorry about your son being diagnosed. Maybe your husband will just follow suit because he's out voted. lol

I am also sorry about your dog and cat being ill. We have a "sylvester" and he is very much pampered and a part of the family. If he got sick I don't know what I would do. :sad2:

Well all my preaching about excercising, well I haven't done it since my last post cause of school. And boy oh boy am I limping around. I am sooo sore and stiff. Excercising even a little bit must have really helped me. So my college is probably going on strike next week, so looks like I will have a little time to excercise again.

Tomorrow I am going to an open house information session for the Catholic School Board and am taking my resume just in case!!! So wish me luck!

Hang in there!!!!

LOVE THE T Shirt Idea..great fathers day gag-:rotfl: present

Sorry about your pets :sad2: We just had the three kittys we rescued during that Christmas cold spell to the vet for spy/nutered shots..guess their ours now :rotfl: I think I might have forgotten to tell you guys that when it was 15 below here we rescued a pure white mama and two pure white kittens (6mon or so)all with green eyes . Kept them in cat show cages for a few weeks to see if they could take the kids and our other two cats. We are now a 5 cat family :scared1:. They are really beautiful and we couldn't think about seperating them or letting them freeze so her we are.

Brighteyes GOOD LUCK!!pixiedust:

Thanks for all the kind thought the past few months. Dont know what Id done with out you and all the gang here!

I am still feeling better despite falling down the stairs yesterday  Guess I was feeing so good I didn't notice that I didnt have much feeling in my feet. Missed a step and slid down a whole set of carpeted stairs right in frount of our DD5. She was really sweet, rubbing my back and getting ice pack. Took a double dose of ativan instead of muscle relaxer since I couldnt be knocked out while alone with the kids. I slept like a rock. Guess DD11 worried a bit because she snuck in to sleep with me. Something she didnt even do much when she was little. She is going through some serious tween against Mom stuff lately so she would never say anything but... Havent told DH yet because he would rush home from Cleveland in that terrible snow to sit and watch me snore. SoI'm going to be in a bit of trouble when he gets home. Price I pay for being supportive wife :laughing:Then Today I woke up to 28 inches of snow. Since DH out of town I was not looking forward to digging out our van. I didnt even think it was that much. Then my wonderful neighbor shows up and plows out the whole thing :dance3::dance3:

So I"m in pain the way you would expect ( for a normal person lol), where bumped and bruised, but not too bad. Isn't it weird :confused:I can fall down the stairs and be fairly ok but the last several months have sucked for no reason at all! Maybe I need to fall down the stairs once a day and knock some sence into this stupid body of mine... on second thought NOT!!:upsidedow

You sound like me... We have 2 - year and half old "kittens" - sisters that we had to take together from the shelter and a Labrador Retriever as well as Izzadore. I would have a housefull if I could. They bring such joy - and then some heartache when they get sick or old. The love of my life "Tigger" lived to be 21 - I lost her about a year and a half ago. We also had Spot our rescue dog for 19 years. I still miss them so. Izzy has metastic adenocarcinoma. So the tumors they removed are secondary and they don't know where the primary cancer is. :sad1: He wasn't even acting sick, they picked it up by accident during his shots/well visit because his lungs sounded a little funny. Not sure where it will go from here. They are saying to consult with Oncology on Monday. For now he recovers from the surgery. I have been sleeping on the floor next to the crate he is in in our family room. Not a good thing for a fibro girl, I hurt all over and have been waking up every few hours when he starts to fidget or takes the e-collar off and I have to put it back and feed him some more. My DH is worried about me and where I will land after all this.

Hope your new babies all get along well. Thank you for rescuing them and giving them a great home! :)

Hope everyone is staying warm and pain free!

AW Bonnie - I am so sorry about your fall. I do the same with my DH as he worries so when I do something like that I hate to even tell him. I am sorry you got all that snow, we have been watching the storm. I am glad ur neighbor helped you out, I wouldn't even begin to try and dig out myself. We would be stuck until Spring if it were left up to me. See if you can spend the day relaxing with the kids watching a movie or something tomoorw and recover a little. Take care and feel better!

I had a DK that lived to 21 too. Funny face was born while I was home from college and when her mamma died I had to had feed her and her siblings for a week or two. She died just before my youngest turned one. Saw me through the death of my first DH and marraige to DH2 and all my kids. Was hard to let her go. Her sister had died several years earlier. Had a mouth infection and when the vet put her under found massive amount of cancer so we let her go during the surgery and I never got to say good bye. Better for her not me. Dh worries about me caring for all these cats but they will be indoor/outdoor by june. After our trip when they know they are HOME. We have a good sized house, off the street a bit on a very quiet road and lots of land around us so its safe for them to come and go. Most of my cats have been indoors for safty but I have found they really are happier when it is safe for them to come and go.

We have tried to rescue a few dogs but I just cant handle the extra work. Its made DH really sad not to keep them but after a few days I just can't handle the in/out walking routine, accidents etc and since I'm the one home 24/7 I get the brunt of the work. We have a wonderful no kill shelter not far from us so we knew they were safe but still...:sad2:DH seems so excited to adopt these new babies. Two look siamese and the other applehead oriental. The kind of cats DH used to show. It is very hard to tell them apart unless you look real close. Since they were found in the snow we named them differnt words for snow. Sesi (mama) is tebetain for snow, Yuki is Japanese for snow/lucky and she is still very fiesty, finally Yetti my son named because it took us two days longer to catch him (doesn't hurt that its part of the WDW coasters lol). We thought he was a girl until we go him to the vet. Guess he was a bit shy around us  I kept calling it a him so there ya go.

Dont for get to take care of yourself :flower3:. You wont be able to do a thing for anybody if your in bed the next few weeks:hug: Us caregivers never take care of ourselves unless we are forced to.

Sending healing pixie dust to your four legged friends and you too!pixiedust:

What can we do to be more stress free?

I wish I knew! It does mine too. I heard yoga ..... but have never tried it.

Tigg - I like your new kitties on you sig line!

Exactly- and my dh does NOT understand one bit. I was only diagnosed in October and have had 2 surgeries since then.... I am having a hard time distinguishing my hip replacement "not feeling well" from my Fibro "not feeling well"

I feel pretty good today- I think the weather plays a part for me.... I'm hoping for a nice spring/summer and hopefully I'll see some improvement!

After surgery my fibro flairs up! I dont know if the stress or the surgery but its always worse!

I like my Pilates machine it is very relaxing when I'm not too tired and there are no kids around. Rarely able to use it though:sad2:

The only place or time in recent memory that I have felt no stress was last May at WDW. Since we had an itenerary the kids didnt fight for a week:worship::worship: Didn't know that was even possible:rotfl:. Then no money issue for a whole week since we prepaid everthing and gave kids cash to spend I didn't have to think about money, checking account balances or bills once!. Finally we told my family when we returned so no guilt trips, tag alongs or other family issues!!! Sprinkle in perfect weather and lots of showers, breaks and regular meals and presto a low stress low Fibro week. Of course I crashed within 2 weeks but it was worth it!!

 I'm moving to Disney world!! Anyone want to sponser me? :rolleyes1It would be a great research project on how stress or lack there of effects Fibro :lmao:
