Wow, awesome weight loss. I don't give up caffeine for anyone, and haven't checked out the flat belly diet. I went off of my lyrica, and lot the weight I had gained when I went on it. Thankfully. I have been having some wicked migraines with the change. My periods go 2 months without and then last 3 weeks. Ugh!

I am walking a mile on the treadmill every morning, and then walk the dog 3 or 4 times a day. But can't seem to get into the weights. I need to.

I think I have asked you this before, but you know how our brains can be. lol

How much weight did you lose when you went off the lyrica?

I am planning on seeing my dr to see if she can change my meds so I can lose some of this weight. I am almost done school, so I will wait until then. But I am anxious to see if that will jump start my wieght loss.

I had gained 25 pounds, and I've lost 22 of it. It was with portion control, and not snacking. The stinking lyrica made me hungry all of the time, with less self control than normal.

I still get the swelling of the face, however lately my symptom has been larger areas of my skin burning. Last night I was at school till 10 and every five minutes had to check the whole left side of my face from my forehead to my chin, just burning and painful like I had a big rash or chemical on my skin. But there was nothing there. I used to only get tiny tiny spots for a min or so - a few times in a row - then nothing.

Iread your message on the angiodema, I will look into it, but do you have to be swollen all the time? I am only sometimes as mentioned above?

But I still haven't been checked out for my gallbladder which I was supposed to do a long time ago. :rolleyes1

I hope you find answers - but you for sure will find support here. These gals are great. :yay:

My apologies I misspelled the condition my sister in law has it's angioedema.

I had my meeting with the doc and I am trying Strattera. I haven't had luck with meds in the past because I always seem susceptible to the side effects with invariably lead to a flare up instead of an improvement. But as you may or may not know, this is an ADD drug. Only recently have I really felt that maybe this pinball machine of a brain is something that I have struggled with all my life. Time will tell.

On a positive note a side effect is weight loss, on a negative note a side effect is sleep disturbance which always gives me pain flare ups. Again the good and bad news, I'm experiencing both. Maybe they will both subside at the exact perfect time.

I'll keep you posted. Good days and sleep filled night to all:goodvibes

If you want some of the benefits of weight lifting maybe a Pilate's machine is right for you. Many of the exercises are done on your back using a pulley system that uses your own weight and bungee cords to give weight resistance. It is a very fluid motion and since at least half of the exercises are down begin prone it doesn't seem to accelerate my fatigue issues like folding clothes, laundry, ti chi, treadmills and weight do for me. Ahh if I could only do everything laying down :rotfl: I'm hoping more muscle mass will mean less weight gain when I crash ;). They can be very expensive but QVC has really good ones for great prices. I cant seem to do it when the kids are around though. Because it is a very fluid motion and by brain is distracted very easily when the kids unexpectedly yell etc I lose my rhythm and have a hard time getting it back. It is very hypnotic once you get going with the soft music on the dvd so its a bit of a meditation as much as exercise.etc. I cant imagine trying to do regular Pilates or Yoga. I realy need the consistent support of the machine.

Ok all I need an intervention! LOL It is getting close to spring and every year around this time I get PUPPY FEVER!!!

I start seeing them everywhere and I want one. I already have a 4 yr old cat, who I think would adjust, he's pretty easy going.

But I have never owned a dog. I could afford to get it spayed, but animals can cost alot and my cat hasn't really cost me much in the way of vet bills, but I would love it so much. :cloud9::love:

I would love to have a little shi poo or even a long haired chihuahua or a maltese! I love them all, they are so cute and it is killing me not to get one!!!!! :upsidedow:upsidedow

PUPPY FEVER!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9:

I hope you are all doing well, Tigg good job on the weight loss and the excercising!!

Thanks! I didnt get to do my Pilate's today because my DD11 took 10 hrs to fold the laundry!:scared1: I had to put her in my room and separate her from the rest of the family to get it done. Ten hours can you believe how stubborn she is over doing a couple of loads (just folding):sad2::sad2::sad2: Needless to say this irratated me and made it so I couldn't even try to do the Pilates since it is in my room. I love the tween years:lmao::lmao::lmao:

As for puppies I know they are so CUTE !!! We had a beagle that we adored and we LOVE Mastiffs!:lovestruc Maybe I can help on the puppy fever. We have tried twice to take in stray dogs we found over the past 5 yrs. Both times we had to bring them to our no kill shelter because I ended up having to walk them and clean up their frequent accidents more than I could tolerate. Even trained dogs have accidents in a new home since you and the dog need to learn to read each other a bit before you get it right. I love dogs but since I'm the one home I'm the one who had to walk them in the rain/cold. If its 3 am and they need to go you have to get up and go out not too apealing this past winter. Little ones that yelp would trigger a migraine for sure. We decided if we ever wanted another dog we would have to have an invisible fence and automatic doggy door. They are ALOT more work than cats which you can set up for several days with automatic feeders/water bowls and just check water/food/litter levels.Dogs really are more like children in the commitment it takes to care for them. If you are ready for another semi independent child then go for it.:thumbsup2 Otherwise get another cat ;)

I am no help because I am right there with you! I have 3 cats and a dog who I have spent thousands on vet bills in the last 2 years. I actually am home right now when I was supposed to be in FLA because my cat has lung cancer and I couldn't find anyone who could give him the care he needs. Even with this, I am currently on the wait list for another labrador because I think my dog Josie misses her pal who died 2 years ago. I love animals and would fill the house with them if I could. They are expensive and dogs are way more work than cats yet I still want another one. My DH says we are at our animal maximum, especially after the cat lung surgery last month. If I were you I would do it but think seriously, it's a big responsibility to have a dog and a lot of work. But... very rewarding and lots of fun too. So did help or hinder? UGH idk....

Hope you guys are all feeling Spring in the air and know that warm weather means less pain! It's just around the corner!

Thank you all. I am still thinking about it --and will be for a long time. :goodvibes

I know right now I can't afford it but I still want one.

Eduke, I am so sorry to hear about your kitty and the lung surgery! Please keep us posted on the lil one!

I know what you say about it being such a large committment, and I think that is what's is keeping me from it. I know IF I got a dog, I would definately do everything Ineed to take care of it, BUT my life would be more free IF I didn't. That is why I am so conflicted. :confused3 SIGH:upsidedow

Thanks for the replies. I don't think NOW is the right time, but they are sooo cute. I will keep looking at the ads to satisfy myself. I guess I am just worried about what will happen with the dog if I go on vacation. But then I think I already have a cat, so it's the same thing.

I guess what keeps me from doing it right now is the cost. I would want to take puppy classes or training cause I do not know the first thing about training a puppy, and the grooming costs. But then I think if I am home now cause I am not working alot then I would be home and have time to train a dog. :confused3 Do you see how very hard I am working to rationalize this purchase? :rotfl:

I only have a few more weeks of school left, so I think it would be the perfect time. As for affording vet bills, I have never neglected Sylvester. He was just at the vet yesterday and has to get his teeth cleaned cause he's showing some plaque build up.

Ahh decisionns, decisions. Yes, I think I would be the one who ends up taking care of it. But then again, it would force me to go out walking every day - if even for a bit.

I will keep you posted. I just don't understand if I know they are so much committment, then why do I still want one sooo bad??

My dog does make me get out and walk everyday and I know that it really does help keep me and my DH more active. The other thing I find is that when I am feeling really down she will come and put her face on my lap and always make me smile. When we go away I have a college student come and stay at my house to care for all of them or I board the dog and one of the vet techs comes 2x per day to feed and check on the cats. It is just another expense we add to the cost of taking vacation. ( No help, I know ~ sorry!) And aren't puppies soooooo cute........!

Brighteyes

 Maybe you should set up your home to be a dog sitter for awhile. You could make some money get your doggy fix and see if you can really handle the extra commitment. Especially if you live in a place where you cannot put them outside unattended like a fenced yard. Then you could use the money to get your own doggy if it works for you.

Eduke sorry about your cat. Thought I mentioned it last time but ....

I'm so bummed been off diet and Pilates for 3 days. Not eating a lot but seems like eating one carb make me blow up :rotfl: We saw Alice 3d :thumbsup2 this weekend then ate out. stuck to fish but its the little bites here and there that get me. It is so hard to deal with the kids and the DH and all the demands and fit in exersise and good eating. A salad just doesn't seem appealing when your stressed.:sad2: Didn't even dare get on scale sure gained 3lbs water over the weekend but I know in two days it will be gone and i'll be down another pound so I'm focusing on that. 2lbs a week and I'm happy:banana::banana: I've been working on my dining plan and stressing about our upcoming final payment both make me hungry:lmao::lmao:

Those all seem like good ideas. I am checking to see how much training is. I am constantly looking at pics of puppies right now.

I am wanting to get a lil maltese or yorkie poo or shih poo. Sigh....

The same friend that stays here when I go on vacay to DIsney would help with the dog. She has 3 of them. Or I could get my younger sisters to stay here. Or I could just board the dog if I go away.

I think I will be ok and not do anything. You know I am in trouble when I go and actually look at one, then I will be in trouble. popcorn::

I have not excercised at all today. Tooo busy looking at the puppies online... Tigg, don't feel bad, you will do fine, tomorrow is another day.

Eduke, thanks for your input, I do appreciate it. ;)

Take care all.... :goodvibes

Tinker - good job on being active, \I have to work on my routine, haven't done it for a while.

My friend had her hands looked at cause she had a lot of pain and found out that she has carpal in both hands... on top of fibro. :sad2:

But this is what I am trying NOT to bring home with me. I can't post a picture sorry.
