fianl day ME question

We are heading to AK on our final day and have ADR for Tusker House at 11am. After we are finished eating we plan on heading back to catch the ME. Is this realistic or should I be looking into a cab or towncar service. Our flight does not leave MCO till 5:30 so I am thinking we will be ok but there is no way of knowing when they will schedule the ME until the day before is there??

Your DME pick up will be scheduled for about 2:30 p.m. and you need to be at the pick-up location 10-15 minutes before that time. As a result, if you get your Tusker House lunch done by 1:00 p.m. you should be fine with getting back to your resort in time.

Magical Express should be about 3 hours before your flight and the scheduling process normally takes place before the morning of the day before checkout with the confirmation delivered to your room early that second to last morning.

Shoot to be back at your resort an hour before your DME bus time, 1.30 in your case.

If all the baggage you need to carry is small and few enough to take to the park and store in a locker there, then you could get a taxi or towncar to take you around 2:45 to the airport. It's the direct trip from park to airport, not the fact you are going by automobile instead of by bus, that gains you some extra park time.

I suggest using the RAC desk to check your luggage/collect your boarding passes before heading to AK (assuming you're flying a participating airline).

As has been mentioned, your assigned ME pickup time will be 3 hours before your flight +/- 15 minutes. So you will be assigned a time between 2:15 and 2:45. If you miss your assigned time, it's up to YOU to get to the airport.

You need to be at the ME pickup spot, with all carry on luggage 15 minutes before your assigned pickup time. I'd allow 30 minutes to get the carryons from baggage services (assuming you stored them there) and an hour to get from AK back to your resort. That means you should be walking out of the AK gates ~12:30 (assuming a 2:15 pickup). So, yes, I think an 11:00 ADR should be fine.

Thank you all for the input!! Very useful. I am just trying to make the most of our time since this is our shortest trip and do not want to waste it on waiting for transportation!!!

THats why we always rent a car Especially on our last day, all the time waiting for ME is a killer. In your situation we would just leave AK at 3pm and head straight to the airport from there. On short trips 2-3 hours of park time is a lot!
