I have two hotel reservations for a 5 night stay this October.

Fairfield Inn @ 85/night + 11/day for parking, standard 2 queen room and HOJO @ 153/night for a deluxe 2 queen room.

I need to cancel one reservation and it seems like a no brainer to go with the FFI and save the $$$ for other things, but does anybody with experience with the both hotels feel the HOJO is worth the extra money?

This is our first trip with our children 9 and 6.

We plan on taking afternoon breaks and it sounds like it may still be very hot mid-October, so we will most likely take many dips in the pool.

Thanks!!

We just stayed at the ffi for 3 nights this past weekend and was way impressed by the location, the room and the price. I would go with that for sure, save the money and spend some extra in the parks. It was super clean, the beds were comfortable and it was quiet. I would stay again there in a heartbeat.

I would never EVER pay $100 a night for hojo let alone $153....now dont get me wrong here..I do like hojo...its a nice place but there are sooooo many nicer hotels that are as much or less than that price...when they have their offers for less than $80 a night..then yes, it is a good deal...but there isnt some greatness about them that would get me to pay them that much ..I would totally go for FFI...its just as good as hojo imo....but better cause its cheaper...

We love Hojo and stay there almost all the time. We have also stayed at the FFI once and had a perfectly fine experience. If prices were equal, I would pick Hojo simply because I am more comfortable there. When talking about that much of a price difference though between two fine properties, I simply pick the cheaper option. Both are good choices, but neither is worth paying a $60 premium for.

While I like hojo I would NEVER EVER pay that much to stay there. Period.

In this instance, the only plus for HoJo is their pool/splash area for the kids. For me, it would not be worth the extra $$
The rooms at the FFI are nice and clean, and the hotel is closer.

Wow! how did you score such a great rate at Fairfield? I have never been able to get anything under $129 and that's in off peak times. I second everyone else that while the HoJo has the nice splash park. They are so close accommodation wise that I would take the cheaper of the two.

As you can see by my signature, I've stayed at both places regularly. For the price at the Fairfield, I recommend you cancel the HOJO reservation because you'll be just as happy at the Fairfield for its comfort, updated amenities, and cleanliness. And the savings could be put toward park costs or simply reduce the overall cost of your trip!

It's a great hotel and you are *very* lucky to get it at that price! I just rechecked the rates for our stay this November - no such luck. *snaps finger* ;)

Did you ask for the Mousesavers or mIcechat rate at HoJos? I go to HoJos all the time, (btw, i have never gotten it for under $100) we usually pay around $120 a night and stay in a room with queen beds...

Wow, that $153 seems very high. Maybe that's full rack rate for your nights? If you have an Entertainment Card, you can get 20% off. There are two nights in October where that discount applies. Check HERE for more about that. Also, make sure to get on their Super Family Rate email list and you can get 50% off. For more info and to sign up for that check HERE. Those are great because you can get great rates at the last minute too.

I really liked Hojo and the pool there when we stayed there in 2011.

I don't know what FFI is like so I can't tell you anything about that hotel.

FFI is a much better location and has better rooms/beds. Only the pool area is better at HOJO at that's not worth the extra money especially outside the resort hotels.

I would pick FFI even if the rates were the same.

We stayed at the Hojo in May in the superior view rooms, it was ok and clean but not impressive enough for us to go back! We are going back in October and this time we are staying at FFI! I didn't get the rates that you were able to get...good job! I would cancel Hojo without hesitation!

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies.

I canceled the reservation.

I got the rate by booking on Marriott then finding a better deal on Kayak within 24 hours. Marriott matched the price with an additional 25 % off.
