Hey Ya'll,

I have a couple of questions about the Swan/Dolphin. Answers to any or all will be appreciated!

1) Which hotel has a shorter walk to Epcot?
2) Which hotel is newer, or has recently renovated rooms/suites?
3) Can Swan/Dolphin guests take advantage of the DDP? What about Extra Magic Hours?
4) Is the bus transportation similar to that of Disney owned and operated resorts?

Thanks so much for your help!
~Simon :)

1. Swan
2. Not sure.... they are both awesome. The Swan was being worked on in the summer of 2006 but not sure about the Dolphin.
3.No. Since the resorts are not owned by WDW, these perks are not available.
4. Yes. The buses are shared with BC, YC, and BW.

Both are great resorts. The Dolphin seems to fill up faster, but we chose the Swan since it was closest to the BW and Epcot.

IMHO,
1) Neither, but both is short and enjoyable if you enjoy the beautiful Boardwalk area!
2) Both are renovating ongoing. No difference.
3) No dining plan, but I wouldn't consider that anyway; you're better off paying as you go. Yes, EMH apply.
4) Yes, it IS Disney busses, you share with the YC/BC, BW and off you go.

Have a good trip.

PS the swan is my fave among the two

They frequently have specials, especially for government and teachers, plus throughout the year they offer good rates. My friend got the $129/nt rate in 2006. Check their website, and call them and ask.

I use Expedia to check prices, but never have actually booked through them. That's just me. I always call the resort then and book it.

I would say that the Dolphin is a bit closer due to the fact is very close to Yacht Club. But both are really not a far walk. :)

We really enjoyed our last stay at the Dolphin!!~

If you have a car, don't forget about their parking fees.

We stayed in a recently renovated room at the Dolphin last March, and more work was going on.

And just to clarify, S&D guests can participate in EMH, but not the Dining Plan.

My mother got great rates on a nurses' discount, so that's something else to ask about if you qualify!

As for the renovations, I didn't know they were doing more or different ones. They have always been doing several rooms while we've stayed there, and they told me they do some at a time, but I didn't know they were putting in the flat tv's - that is cool.

We only used EMH once in all 3 stays there - but some folks love that, so yes that's a factor.

Yes, it is true there is a $9 per night parking fee, but if you get a great discount like the teacher/nurse/gov. emp. rate, it is still MUCH cheaper per night(about half the price) than the Disney owned deluxes in the Epcot area.
