First, just want to say thank you so much to everyone on this board. We are 1 month away from our 1st trip, and without the posts, replies and tips from everyone here, there is no way we would be ready for this trip. So once again, thank you.

So, onto my next round of questions:

1. Does Disneyland Park have a welcome show in the morning like the Magic Kingdom? If so, where does it take place?

2. Is there a guest relations window outside either of the parks entrances to obtain disability information or assistance cards without entering the park? Hoping to take care of that on arrival day which isn't a park day.

Thank you in advance!

1. There is no welcome show. They will start scanning people in about 15 minutes early, then hold at ropes around the hub. There is just an announcement and a countdown over the PA.

2. There is a Guest Relations area I believe to the left as you face the gates to Disneyland. I don't know specifically about the disability information, but I would assume they can help you - EDIT: Apparently they can only help with disability access once inside the park.

So from the sounds of it, Main Street opens up about 15 minutes prior to park opening. Is that correct? Is it safe to assume that Guest Relations at City Hall is open when guests are allowed onto Main Street?

In order to get a DAS (Disability Access Service -- you can find information about this service on the DLR website), you will have to enter either park. Go to City Hall (DL) or Chamber of Commerce (DCA). It doesn't matter which park you go to -- the DAS will be good for both parks. We've found that Chamber of Commerce usually has a shorter line.

ETA: Don't panic if the line to City Hall looks long. There is usually at least 1 CM working the line to find out what guests are waiting for. The CM/s will pull out the guests whose questions can be easily answered (e.g. birthday/first visit buttons, maps, buying MP, etc.) and lead them to a podium. The line may look long, but it will move, so stick with it.

The line in both parks for Guest Services was a mile long right at opening and only got longer every time we went by last weekend. And it was t really that crowded. I would definitely arrive as early as you can, get in for rope drop, and get to the front of that line.

Generally, it opens approx. 20 minutes before the official park opening time. However, they're not obliged to do this and there's ample variation in their opening times. Sometimes it's a half hour before official park opening (this happened to me on Weds), other times it'll be at the official park opening time. I think it all depends on what's going on inside of the park. Sometimes there's construction, maintenance or a wedding. Generally, though, guests all allowed through the gates about 20 minutes before park open.

It seemed closer to 30 on Sunday for us too. I wasn’t really paying attention to my watch but it was early.

Yeah, unfortunately, you cannot obtain a DAS at the outside guest relations. I wish they would change this.

I would suggest, if you have park hoppers, go do this at DCA instead. MUCH shorter lines for guest relations over in that park, especially close to park opening time.

That wasn’t the case last weekend, it wrapped around the corner past the first shop door, it was crazy!
