okay, we are figuring this all out, but a couple of questions come to mind. for example: i see the trend with the maintenence fees - they all continually go up every year. how will this effect dvc owners in the future? i know WHY they go up, but would they ever go up to the point that membership would not be worth it, financially? i am just concerned about a skyrocket in MF rates.

also, what about the point values? we know how many points we can easily afford and how much we will need to buy to suit our family's vacation needs. and i know that our needs may change at some point but, do these values change yearly, as well? if we bought x amount of points today, would we be unable to use them the same way in, say, five years, or would we be left thinking, "darn, we need to purchase about 200 more points in order to go on our one-week vay-cay every year"? OR do the values just move with the seasons??

thanks for all of the help you all have been giving us...

Dues tend to increase below the inflation rate. As you make more money, you have it available to pay your dues.

The amount of points needed are locked in. They my change seasonally, but overall they will not increase.

Your purchase is not a life long commitment. I don't know why everyone acts like it is. If in the future, things change and you don't visit Disney every couple of years, sell.

Maintenance fees go up every year, but so have the hotel rates. In fact, the hotel rate increases have been more then the maintenace fees.

The number of points in a year can not change. They can change values for a particular season, but they will have to decrease the points in a different season to balance the change. For example, if you vacation every year the last week in July, your point total will probably always be the same. If you travel the first week in April every year, your point total will change based on when Easter is that year.

I think this is well said... And selling is not a problem....
