I have booked!!! I am soo excited! I still have a few questions so we know what to expect.
We are in 2 category 11 staterooms. Hubby and I have 6 kids who will be ages 9-17 when we cruise. The questin concerns the quad cabins with the "convertible" couch. Is there another bed that comes down from the ceiling? I saw a picture on a website and wondered if that was in our room , or if the couch was big enough for 2 kids to sleep on. Do they all have twin beds that convert into queen?
The other question concerns Castaway Cay. Since it is Disney's island is the food included in your day there? Do we need to plan on booking an excursion , or are we allowed to snorkle for free if we have our own equipment ? When they say the kids clubs go dig for whale bones, does that cost extra?
I am trying to budget so we can have the time of our lives and don't want to be hit with a lot of extra fees since there are 6 kids to pay for. Thanks in advance for all your help.

PS :where do I get a countdown clock? Melissa

I don't know if I can be much help, but at least your post will get bumped back up to the top.

I don't know about the room questions, as it was just my son and I when we went. I do believe, however, that all the bedroom are set up with the queen in place that you can ask your room attendant to split to twin beds if you need.

For Castaway Cay, the food is included on the island just as it is on the ship. I am not sure about soda, if it is included with the lunch or not. Alcohol would be a separate cost. When the kids clubs go to the island and dig for bones/treasure, this is part of the club activity and does not have an extra cost.

I have heard of others bringing their own snorkel equipment, so I think you can do this without adding cost. I do think that they make you wear an orange/red vest that you need to get. I do not think that there is a cost, but I am not sure.

This is the information that I have. I hope all of it is correct, as most of it is info I have read here. I hope others will jump in and correct anything I may have misunderstood.

Thank you Dustin and Shelby's mom,
I figured the food was included, but wasn't sure. I thought I should ask. I think I am more excited than my kids are! I have been drooling over the cruise line for years and finally just Booked it!!! My kids are not getting any younger!

Thanks again for your help. My neighbor was thinking of going with us, and really wanted to know about the food and the island. They have 3 kids and will be on a limited budget also.

Thanks Melissa

You can bring your own snorkeling gear, including vest, and other sand toys or floats you want to CC.
Food is included at either beach (family or adult) and there is lemonade and punch available at no cost. They have lots of fresh fruit on ice.
Soda is extra just like on the ship.
Don't forget to budget for tips. In your documents will be a suggested amount for EACH member of your party. Remember the CM's work very hard for you and they should be rewarded for their good service. The tips are given on the last night of your cruise and envelopes will be left in your cabin that morning. You can charge your tips to your stateroom account and they will give you a prepaid voucher to put in the envelope. If our service is outstanding we will give over the suggested amount.
If you check your kids into the clubs on the island they do not take them to the water, that is up to you if they want to swim. The clubs on the ship are closed so only the beach club is available, they will take them to lunch. The kids (3-12) are asked to attend the rehearsal for their farewell show at about 4:15 or so. DD loves to be a part of the show - it is in the Walt Disney theatre - and they are on the stage and they sing/sign a song at the end. Tears will flow from the adults :)
Hope this helps.
Have fun.

More on the beds.

The queens do convert, and you just tell your host if it isn't the way you want. I think they kind of look at your booking and try to figure out how you'd want it.

The couch flips over and becomes a twin bed. A pull down bed comes down from the ceiling over the couch, so it looks like bunk beds. The pull down bed is in all the rooms that sleep 4 (I'm not sure about the suites, but at least up through the cat 5s).
