We're setting sail on Sunday  !!! We're all pretty psyched, but also panicking about getting packed. I have a few questions I hope you guys can answer for me:

1) What, if any, are the restrictions on food & drink(non-alcoholic) being brought on-board? For example, I know they offer a water package, but we'd like to bring our own. Is that a problem? What about snacks for movies, etc?

2) My son has a nebulizer for asthma. Is any special action required on our part in order to take it on-board?

3) Is it pretty common to just tip through guest services instead of taking a wad of cash? It would certainly be easier, but I don't want any of the staff to think we're stiffing them! Also, are phone cards the best tips for the kids' staff? If so, how much?

#1 should be fine, but bringing on a hard sided cooler can be a problem, in case that's something you were considering. Also, take into account that whatever you bring on you will have to cart around with you until the rooms are open at about 1:30 p.m.

#2, not sure, but someone else will know.

#3 Most people tip their dinner wait staff and cabin steward at the end of the cruise through a process that charges the tips to your room.. You simply take a form to guest services and they provide you with printed cards that list the amount that you can give to the staff on the last night. If you are tipping for incidental cocktail service, room service, etc. those also can be charged to your room and I assume that is the most common method of tipping.

I'd just like to add that it's good to have on-hand a small supply of dollar bills so you can tip the room-service delivery person (assuming you'll be ordering room service of course :) ).

As for question #2 there is no problem of you taking your nebulizer on board. The voltage on the ship is the same as you have in your home. Taking your albueteral or atrovent vials are no different than anyone else bringing on their medication. You might want to ask at the information desk where the ships Dr. is located at just in case you were to need him or her.

Have a great cruise and don't worry about a thing. he staff is so helpful in any situation that may arise. Just relax and enjoy the best four days of your lives.

I know they offer a water package, but we'd like to bring our own. Is that a problem?

We drove down and took our own case of water. I just taped a big 8.5x11 piece of paper to the top with our name & room number on it - and it was treated as luggage. It got sent up to our room with the rest of our checked baggage.
