So tomorrow I am holding my annual cookie exchange. I will have about 17 "girls" ranging in age from late 20s to early 50s. One thing we have in common, however, is that we all like to get silly and have a good time. Each year I have a "signature" cocktail for the night. I just went to look at some festive recipes and narrowed it down to these: A gingerbread cosmo, (cranberyy twist mix, vanilla vodka and a dash of butterscotch schnapps), a Christmas cosmo (cointreau, cranberry juice, fresh lime juice, vodka) or a Candy Cane Mojito (mojito mix, cranberry juice and champagne).

Which would you choose? Does anyone else have any festive cocktail recipes for our girls' night?

You cannot go wrong with any of those, they all sound wonderful so go with the prettiest. :)

Me too. What time should we arrive, and how many cookies should we bring??

7 p.m. and nine dozen divided into sixes--prepackaged please.;) Now that I'm looking at the Christmas Cosmo, isn't that the same recipe for a regular cosmo?

A nice little touch would be to get the paper napkins red and green put them together and then put them in the glass. It looks nice on the table.

How about mint chocolate martinis with a little candy cane hung on each glass?

How about a Cherry Lifesaver? Cherry vodka, lemonade, and grenadine.

Oh, the candy cane mojito would be my pick, although I love mojito's! I also love Chambord (a raspberry liquor) with champagne, that would be pretty and Christmasy too. Here is one I just found on my mixology app (first time using it!ha ha ) christmas kiss: 1/2 oz chambord 1/2 oz kahlua. fill a shot glass 1/2 way with kahlua and top off with chambord. Gingerbread mojito: 4 lime juice, 4 mint leaves, 1/4 oz dark rum, 1 oz monin gingerbread syrup, 1 oz soda. Peppermint hot cocoa: add 1oz peppermint schnapps in a mug of hot cocoa. This would be pretty: candycane: 4oz pina colada mix, 4oz strawberry margarita mix, 1 1/2oz light rum, 1 1/2oz malibu rum: mix the pina colada mix with the light rum. Separately, mix the strawberry mix with the malibu rum. Fill a glass with crushed ice, fill the glass 2/3 full with pina colada and pour the strawberry over the pina colada.

Sounds like an awesome time, have fun!

I see how you are :sad2:!? I'm going to pout, as I feel left out since your 'girls' are all 20ies-50'ies!!!! :confused3 :rotfl2:

Your drinks sound yummy :thumbsup2! I'm not that creative, my last C'mas girls get together I served spiked egg nog with a candy cane stirrer in goblet. They loved it! :woohoo:

Mint chocolate martinis sound yummy but I think might be a little too "heavy" with all the food and cookies, etc. Plus they like to consume drinks in volume, LOL, and these might be too "rich". I could go for one right now though.;) The Cherry lifesaver sounds tasty, too--perhaps for my summer get together?:cool2:

2bearsmom: My first year I did the champagne and chambord (called it a poinsettia) and everyone loved them. They're nice and light, too. Your other recipes sound delish, too.:thumbsup2

What food are you serving?

Appetizers--but lots of 'em: shrimp cocktail, veggies & dip in pumpernickel bread, cheese & crackers, hummus & pita chips, kielbasa slices, buffalo chicken dip, pepper jelly w/cream cheese, water chestnuts wrapped in bacon, artichoke dip, little wieners wrapped in pastry dough, and about 2-3 other things. Why, ya wanna come, too?
