Festival of Fantasy FP Viewing Area

Well the name says it all! Where is the fastpass viewing area for the festival of fantasy parade?

It is at the front of the park at the flagpole. What I do not like about this location is that FOF parade begins in Frontierland at 3p.m It ends at the flagpole so people with fp for it will be the last to see it and so will have a really long wait. I have read that it reaches the fp area around 3:30 or so. We are debating a fp for this so maybe someone who has recently been can say for sure what the wait is.

Yep. that's the piece that made my mind up about passing on it.

I probably would have suffered the sun if it was up by the castle. But honestly, it's not that hard to get a spot on the hub anyway.

That was the other piece of it for us. Not only is it in the hot sun, but the parade won't even get there until closer to 3:30. That's a lot of time in the blazing sun.

Approx. 3:30 is correct, and the timing cannot vary more than a few seconds if the parade steps off on time. (And it virtually always is right on time.)
The parade is synced to a pre-recorded audio track that only allows it to move at one specific speed.
That pre-determines that the head of the parade must enter a given "zone" along the parade route at a specific time.

The final FoF Parade "zone" is at the head of Main St., the current FP+ viewing area.

BTW, of course the Town Square area is the FIRST zone for the MSEP.

Yup.
I figure that they will move the parade viewing FP+ area back to the hub after the hub construction is finished (sometime in the later part of this year.)

But, that's just a guess.

I decided to put that extra half hour into the front end of the deal and hopefully find a shady spot in Frontierland. That also freed up an extra FP for us.

It's a good spot to see the NIGHTTIME parade. The sun is down.

But at night, you want to be able to see the new spectacular show that is actually projected on the front of the Castle, "Celebrate the Magic," which begins about 15 minutes before the fireworks.

2. Less crowded than on Main Street, but still spectacular viewing can be found near the Hall of Presidents, or deep into Frontierland, past the Country Bears.

If we keep our FP for the FoF parade, what time would you recommend to get there at? I know the fast pass gives us a time range. With the parade showing up there closer to 3:30, are you able to show up in the FP reserved area after 3:00 ( pending curb side seating isn't necessary?) still trying to figure out if we want to keep this FP or not. The parade is my number one thing we want to do. We missed it last time due to rain.

I may consider the FP for this as we're going in December so it shouldn't be too bad as far as the blazing hot sun is concerned. Besides, I want to make sure to catch this parade. It's top priority this year.
