Does anyone travel to Disney this way? I was wondering if this cuts off time or adds to it. Does anyone have experience with this. Thanks for replying.

There's a ferry from NJ to FLA????

I would think it would be a great deal longer than flying or even train.

That's the only Ferry I could think that Kapica could be referring to.. I would think it MAY be an option if you lived in very southern NJ (as opposed to going north to go over the Delaware Memorial Bridge).. That being said it looks like Kapica lives in Bayonne - up by NYC if I recall correctly - I would take I95 straight down.

Here is their website:

I agree, from Bayonne the ferry is going to add several hours to the trip.

When my parents used to drive us down to Florida every year, we took the Cape May Lewes Ferry, simply for a change of scenery. I'm pretty sure it actually ADDED time to the trip, with waiting for the ferry time. You had to get there early to line up & make sure you got on the ferry.

Nothing special in my opinion! (sorry, don't mean to offend anyone)

Thanks everyone for your reply. I guess I'm not taking the Cape May/Lewes Ferry.

I was looking for a solution as I will be traveling on the Friday before Thanksgiving and the earliest I could possibly leave Bayonne would be 12:00-1:00 pm.(-yet need to be in Disney by Noon next day). Seems like I would be traveling through Washington DC area around rush hour. From what I've read, afternoon rush hour is worse than morning rush hour and I can only imagine "Friday-before-a-holiday" traffic.

Any other suggestions on how to avoid 5 hours worth of traffic around D.C.?

Does anyone travel anything other than "the usual" I-95 from New Jersey to avoid traffic?

Thanks.
