Does anyone know - if you turn up early for the ferry crossing (Dover Calais P&O) do they let you go early?
Or do you have to wait?
Last time we turned up JUST on the 45 min before travel as we got stuck in traffic - so now I'm paranoid and we will set off too early and my hubby will curse, sitting in the car/ferry port with 2 fractious kids for ages waiting for a ferry etc etc....
Unfortunately as we are holidaying with family who live in France first, there is not an alternative to the ferry option. (and hubby just won't "do" the tunnel)
p.s. I heard on the news Calais was shut this morning for 2 hours due to an unexploded mine!!! Just given me something else to worry about!

But can't help for sure
) - pretty much what you've told me.... they said if there is space they will always try to fill it with anyone who arrives early - upon payment of a £10 amendment fee and any difference in fare at time of travel (as I booked in October for peanuts, this could be costly!!).
is about how I feel!!!)
