Ferb, I know What We're Going to Do Today! - Updated 9/30

WOW:lovestruc Those lights look so amazing. That is partly why we are going for our very short trip in Nov.

Total agree with your Osborne Lights. We enjoyed the Christmas stuff, but there was really only two things I would ever care to see again. One was Candlelight Processional, and the other the Osborne Lights. You took some great pictures, but the pictures and video don't remotely do it justice to actually being there. It was crazy crowded when we were there too (probably two nights later, right? we were there on the 13th) and I was getting real annoyed by the crowds getting TO the lights, but once we were in there - it was just plain awesome.

PS. Thank God we didn't get TSO while we were there, my DW HATES them! We had Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad" and DW and I were dancing around and singing along to it. One of my favorite Pop Christmas songs.

The Osbourne Lights are simply amazing! I really have to get down there some day and see those!!! I'm so glad your trip was able to end on such a great note!! YAY!!

Great pictures!!!

They were just wonderful. It really helped end the trip on the right note.

I would take a trip just to see those lights. It was that amazing. I can't believe the crowds though. It was that packed on a Fantasmic night! It was crazy. Very worth it though.

I don't think anything could do it justice. It's such a unique experience, especially as it's so encompassing. We got lucky and didn't have too much of a problem getting there, because it was just starting for the night. Getting out however was a different story altogether. By that time they were directing traffic, and not letting you go in certain directions.

I'm not normally a TSO fan, but didn't mind it during the light show. It just seemed to fit.

The lights were hands down, my favorite part of the trip.

Aren't the Osborne Lights glorious?! We've seen them twice and each time was magical. :goodvibes I cried at Christmas Canon. Just being in the moment just gets to you, in a good way of course. Wonderful photos!!!

Wonderful pictures of the lights. I am glad you were able to catch a little Disney Magic before you left to go home.

So glad your trip made a quick turn-around at this point! Nothing like a zillion twinkly lights to get that magical feeling back again! Great way to end your trip, I'd say. :goodvibes

You mean we don't get to see any of the Photopass pics with you blowing kisses at the camera? :rotfl:

Such a shame about the D&B bag -- you do know the Disney Store now has them? :rolleyes1

Aren't the Osborne Lights pretty? We loved seeing them in 2004.

Donald is so cute in his Christmas outfit!

I feel sort of badly, everything I see on the DIS right now reminds me of my mom. I mean, I only feel badly in the sense that I can't draw up any other connotations, so when I look at your photos of the Osbourne Lights, I think of how glad I am that I went to see them with Mom and Nana and DS that December we went.

I'm glad you chose to see them as well, because to my mind they really are a do not miss attraction, and I say that about very little at the parks. That was probably my favorite thing we did that holiday trip, it was just amazing. :thumbsup2

They were just wonderful. I was never so glad over a Disney decision I've made before. It was so beautiful, in an over the top kind of way.

Me too! I was feeling pretty cranky and miserable before we got to DHS, and those lights really helped lift me up. Amazing what some tacky lights can do! :)

It did really help end the trip on the right note. It was the perfect shot of magic to get me through the trip.

I didn't end up buying the photopass cd, as I had them take nearly all of the same pictures with my camera. (I just bought 2 digital downloads of pics that I didn't get). I just look too ridiculous blowing kisses at the camera. I just couldn't bring myself to post them. :rotfl:

I did see them there, but I may have come home with one at some point. :rolleyes1

They would definitely be a don't miss for me know that I've seen them. Seeing them with your DS, mom and nana must have been magical. It's such a unique experience.

Love the pictures you got of the Osborne Lights! I'm glad it helped lift your mood a little!

It worked wonders! Never underestimate what a bit of over the top, tacky Christmas decorations will do for me.

We could have spent even longer at DHS watching the lights, but we had a dinner ADR at Citricos at the Grand Floridian and we didn't want to chance missing our reservation again. We left plenty of time to get there this time.

On the bus on the way to the GF, I was attempting to do a search on my phone to find where else they where selling those Dooney & Bourke bags. We had time in the morning before our DME pick up time, and I didn't want to leave without one if possible. Google brought me to a thread on the Dis, and according to the thread the Summer Lace store at the Grand Floridian had just put out a shipment of the new black design. Woo Hoo! :woohoo: One of our first stops when we got to the GF was Summer Lace and we both picked up one of the black wristlet bags. I almost felt bad for the poor CM. She told us she hadn't even been able to put any of the bags on the display. Everyone kept purchasing them before she had the chance. :)I'll post pictures of my souveniers later.

We were a bit early for our ADR, but they didn't make us wait too long. I had really been looking forward to eating at Citricos. It was well worth the wait, and was the perfect way to wrap up our trip.

We both passed on appetizers, but the bread that they served was fantastic.

By this point in the trip my BFF was getting into the spirit of food porn pictures and offered up her entrees to be photographed, even though she still thought I was a bit nuts. She had the seafood special that night which was a swordfish dish. I tasted a bit of it myself, and it was delicious. Not fishy at all.

I had the filet sicilian. OMG! It just melted in your mouth, and let me tell you that everything Tink has ever said about the quatrofromaggi potatos was completely, 100% true. I normally don't eat red meat, only on special occasions, and only when I'm out. This was utterly fantastic, and well worth a special extravegence. I like the filet at the Cali Grill too, but this was even better.

For dessert my BFF had the warm chocolate banana tart. I didn't try any of it, but she said it was delicious. It certainly looked pretty enough.

I had a dessert special which was a cranberry pumpkin cheesecake. It was utterly sinful. The cranberry in the name was a bit misleading as the cranberry was only a few little berries sitting on the side of the dessert. The cheesecake tasted like the richest pumpkin pie you ever had the chance to eat. So decadent!

After dinner, my BFF wanted to take the boat back to the MK instead of the monorail. This ended up being a bit of a dubious decision, as she hadn't worn long pants that night, nor was she wearing a particularly warm jacket. The temps were down in the low 40's that night, and out on the lake, with the boat moving it felt even colder. I had worn a heavier fleece jacket that night, so my top half was warm and toasty, but I had worn a sundress that night so my legs were chilled from the air blowing straight under my skirt. Brrrr! It was particularly bad going from the Poly to the MK. We must have been heading into the wind, because it got much colder. I think I might have heard my friend's teeth chatter a bit.

We made it back to our room and finished up with our packing. We were leaving the next day, but had later flights and still had some Disney to explore in the morning.

I'm so glad you got your Dooney & Bourke! I was getting worried for you!

Your dinner sounded absolutely wonderful...I think I would have had the same thing you did.

Great update! Your dinner at Citricos looks absolutely delightful! I don't eat much red meat at home either, we focus on chicken a lot in our house, but at Disney sometimes I just can't resist and that filet sounds amazing!!!

Yes I can vouch for the fact that being on a boat in the wind when its chilly in Florida is not that pleasant!! My teeth chatter a lot during the winter here in Florida!!!

YAY for a great evening!! and YAY for finding your Dooney and Burke!!!! That is great!!!

What a wonderful dinner! Sounds very yummy.

It does get chilly on those boat rides!! Brrrrrr!!

and let me tell you that everything Tink has ever said about the quatrofromaggi potatos was completely, 100% true.

:thumbsup2 and :thumbsup2

I don't mess around when it comes to cheesy potatoes.

I could eat these for breakfast, lunch, dinner AND dessert. ::yes::

I'm glad you enjoyed them.

WOW ! That was an amazing looking dinner! So glad that not only did you make it on time, but found that elusive bag too! :thumbsup2 I'd say after a couple really disappointing days, you were back on track. Hopefully, your last day shaped up to be a nice send off.

Ok, I need to know what is so special about these potatoes? They sound really yummy whatever the secret is. :)

I'm so happy you got your bag!! What a wonderful way to end the night!!

Hurray for finding the D&B bag!!! :thumbsup2 Dinner sounds out-of-this-world delicious!!!

I was very happy to find the bag. They were out of the white ones, but in the end I think the black was a better bet. I don't need to worry so much about getting it dirty. It makes the perfect ipod bag during the week, and then I use it all weekend. It was pricey, but I'm definitely getting alot of use out of it.

Dinner was so good! I'm so glad I gave Citricos a try. It was delicious.

I'm so glad you got your Dooney & Bourke! I was getting worried for you!

I was really torn on what to get, as the swordfish was looking good too, but I do like to occasionally have meat. (And it's always better if someone else makes it other than me. :) )

It's really the family joke how much chicken I eat. On a day to day basis it's really all I eat along with vegatarian meals and occasionally a bit of seafood. I never cook beef at home. (Maybe a hot dog every once in awhile). It's such a treat for me to have it.

I can't believe how cold it was on that boat! At least on the Friendship boats there is an area you can go inside. Those MK boats are just wide open to the elements. Brrr!

What a wonderful dinner! Sounds very yummy.

It does get chilly on those boat rides!! Brrrrrr!!

It was delicious. I'm so glad that I tried somewhere new.

Point duly noted...Tink is the go to person for info on cheesy potatoes. They were sinfully good!

So glad you found your wristlet! And it sounds like dinner was a very good way to end the trip. :thumbsup2

It's become a bit of a habit for me know to end the trip with a low-key relaxing day and a nice leisurely dinner at a signature restaurant. It really ends up being a lovely way to end a vacation.

Everything at Citricos was really lovely. We had a late (8:45 dinner) and the restaurant was still busy, but delightfully quiet and peaceful. I love the Cali Grill, but it's always a bit loud in there. This was really nice and relaxing.

Funny story I just forgot about that final night. We had stopped in the restroom before dinner, and a couple of women who had just finished their dinner at V&A's were in there talking. It seems we had just missed Tiger Woods leaving. He had been having dinner there that night according to these ladies. (And this was right in the middle of the big uproar about him back in December).

The secret is Cheese! They were so good! Just the right amount of cheesiness to make them utterly delectable. Yum!

I love my bag! I'm so glad I found one before I left. Thank goodness for the Dis!
