Ferb and I are cruising!!! Nov 2011 PTR!

I have never been more excited, and more confused!! We have decided to take a cruise in Nov and I am totally psyched
But, I don't know anything about cruising and I am soooooo confused

I'm gonna be asking lots of questions and needing my hand held A LOT!! But if there's nothing we don't love more, it's planning a Disney vaca!! So I will be lurking on everyone's TR's, PTR's and all the threads...so get used to seeing my name!!

Not my favorite pic, but it does the job of introducing the cast of this PTR in one shot. Usually you see pics of our DD's aged 10 and 6, but they won't be joining us on this vacation!! That's right, it's adults only this time!!

Ferb is over the moon about this, don't get me wrong..he loves his girls . But we haven't been on vacation alone since 1998!! So it's high time we be adults and do something for ourselves!! I am going to leave it here...we haven't booked this trip yet so not much to report. We are waiting to find out how much our Tax Return will be. We live in Canada and we have until the end of Feb to get all our forms sent to us. We will probably be booking the end of this month or first week of March. Until then I will be scouring the threads for info!!

I would love to do an adult trip too. We probably really need too, but Skip just can't leave his baby girl at home. We have done a few 1 night trips since she's been born and he hates being away from her. I swear when we get home, he is out the car and over to MIL's (RIGHT next door...yes I said , RIGHT next dooor ) to get Claire.

I can't wait to here your plans.

I can't remember for sure, but are you doing the 3 night one?

Haha!! Yep, I knew you would be here!!! Thanks for hopping over to this thread!!! I will be picking your brain, so be prepared!!! It's the 3 night cruise that we will be doing. It's too hard to find someone to watch DD's for us so we need to go with other people's schedules and the 3 night falls on the perfect days. It's a good way for us to get our feet wet so to speak as neither of us has ever cruised before!

I'm here too! I've cruised before but not with Disney. We'll be on the Disney Dream Mar. 10-13, 2011 though so I figure I may be of some help to you when I get back.. Plus, there's all adults in my group so I figure I'll be able to give you some insight on the ADULT ONLY places lol

So we got a quote from Dreams Unlimited and we have until the 14th to book at that rate. I am happy with it, of course the extra OBC they offer comes in handy, and I know that they are a very reputable company, so I feel 100% confident using them!
Now, however, we are thinking of changing our dates and moving them up a week. I got a pin code for 35% off a resort stay for these dates and I thought, wouldn't it be fun to stay one night at a Mod and hang out at Epcot as ADULTS!!!! Wow!!! Ferb loves it!! So we need to get a new quote from Dreams Unlimited to move us up a week, hopefully that won't kill the price we are at?! No worries...it is what it is! I'm just soo stoked to be even booking a cruise let alone which week we go!!

Well, WE BOOKED!!!


SOOOO Excited!! After many back and forths about which week to book because of vacation time and who would watch the kids...we finally narrowed it down to Oct 27th 3 nights on the DREAM!!
My awesome cousin is going to take the girls for us for the whole weekend!! My parents might take them for a night or two in the beginning just so they can have some time with the them, but my cousin has committed to taking them the whole time!!! She's the best!!
We ended up booking with Disney directly but we may switch our ressie over to Dreams Unlimited to see if we can get a better OBC. But if it's a hassle it's not worth it for an $25 OBC. Anyone have any experience with this? Now onto the planning!!! And the reading

We got back from our WDW vacation on Thurs the 10th really late!! And then with all the post vacation stuff there is to do I have been pretty busy, not to mention work and having gotten sick on the tail end of our week...so sorry I haven't been here lately!! I have some changes to add to our itinerary!! We switched our reservation over to Dreams Unlimited and it scored us that extra $25 in OBC..which is great, plus I can bug them for info and help!!
I booked a night at a WDW resort for the 26th..not gonna say which one because it's a surprise to Ferb!! So that makes our vacation run from October 26th- October 30th. But that's not all. We booked our flights as well!! We had been waiting for Southwest to open up their schedule for October and they did on Monday!!! The only problem is they have increased their prices like a ridiculous amount!! We are used to the four of us flying direct return for about $800, give or take. The two of us? $600 return and the flight back has a connection!! WTH?!?!?!?! Plus I had to book for the 31st instead of the 30th because it would have been about $100 more between the two of us for the Sunday return. What does that mean? Yep, another day at Disney!! So, I will have to book another resort stay for the Sunday night. That will have to wait, though, because for the other night I used a pin code and that has expired. I have plenty of time to wait for another pin to show up in the mail...if it doesn't I will just book for a value for that night.
