Fellow DIS'ers..Should I say "Hi"!?

I have run into two DISers and recognized them from their signattures - once at WDW and once at our local Disney store - at WDW I said hi - at the Disney store I didn't b/c I was worried I might be wrong!! She and I have becomes friends since then -

I say if they put their pic in the siggie or wear a lime green mickey - they don't mind if you talk to them!!

We will be at MNSSHP on OCt. 2nd. We plan on wearing our DIS shirts. I am hoping to spot and meet some DISers.
We too have the lime green mickey heads and DIS pins and will be wearing them each day.

I didn't see anybody who looked like they were DISers in January, but I'll be on the lookout in October!

I did see a lady locally that I would have sworn was a lady for the DIS who had a picture in her signature. I almost said something, but chickened out at the last minute. I sent her a PM to see if she had been at the botanical gardens that day and she said NO! I would have been SO embarrassed if I had said something to that lady!

But at WDW I would say hi even if I wasn't sure! So everybody in lime green better look out! DS is even starting to catch on, only he doesn't get that it only applies at WDW. Every time he sees someone in lime green he asks me if I think they are DISers!

Look for us, we will be going as an alien tour group. We will have on tee shirts that say something like "The Unofficial Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy WDW Tour" and one of us will be the tour guide with a sign that says "Don't Panic!" on it. We will all have the galatic hitch hikers most important tool, a towel, as well.

We are staying at the Pop from the 1st to the 10th (I need to update my sig).

Really, it would make my day to meet someone from the DIS while I am on vacation in Florida in November. I'll put my Mickey heads on something I take with me to the WDW parks, and I am thinking I may buy and wear the lime green DIS tee shirt and add my user name to the back of the shirt.

Please say "hi" to me!

Sorry, i just can't bring myself to wear any lime green clothes , so I'll just stick with a Home Depot Mickey head. I'll print my avatar on it if I can figure out how... But I too would love to see some fellow DISers in December. I'll keep an eye out for ya!

That is too funny! Maybe we should all wear llime green when we're at home too?!! Everytime I see a Mickey antennae in a parking lot up here, I often wonder if that is a Dis'er..... I think we should have lime green Mickey antennae toppers to go on our vehicles! Wouldn't that be fun to spot one in the parking lot or in your neighborhood!!

I had actually asked a woman on a shuttle back to the Boardwalk if she was a DIS'er (she was wearing some lime green yarn or a ribbon or something). She confirmed that she was but looked at me as if I had two heads. Nevertheless, I'd still say hello.

In fact, on a couple of occasions, folks have stopped me and asked me if I was RickinNYC from the DIS and it's made my day! If you see me in late October/early November, tap me on the shoulder and say "hi!"

I'll be there POR 4-11, and I'm changing some of my plans - - I hope to get to Home Depot and so something with the Lime Green MM... I'm hoping there be some DDs and DS' at the POR pool who'll want to keep my dd 8 entertained!!!

Esp since the parks close so early for us!! I've read that people do decorate windows, so I've got to think of something clever in that way!!

I've been wearing the lime green DIS ribbons on every trip for many years. I never thought of putting the Mickey head on the end of my lanyard. WHAT a great idea! I have approached other DISers and I have been approached many times. When I wear the official DIS t-shirt (http://www.disshop.com/store.asp) I've been asked what DIS is....and there are some DISers who found the site because of the shirt! I always look for lime green ribbons, Home Depot Mickey Heads, and DIS shirts. If I see a DISer I AM going to stop and say howdy! Please look for me too!

If I see an 'obvious' DIS sign, like a DIS shirt or a pin, or Home Depot Mickey head, then I'll go up and say hi. Although I did just that last summer at Soarin' and the lady seemed a little bit put off. Maybe I had interrupted a nice conversation...if so, I apologize...certainly didn't mean to be intrusive!!! But, I did buy a new backpack yesterday. It's a khaki color and I got it on sale and since it is very lightweight material, I think I'll buy some fabric paint and paint some lime green Mickey heads on it. My Home Depot ones aren't lasting very long...they get very beat up each trip. Maybe I'll even put my screen name on it too. If you see me in late Nov, early Dec...please come up and say hi!!!

I would love to meet some fellow DIS'ers, My mom (who also loves this board) and I will be wearing Lime Green Mickey heads that I made on our day packs and also we will be wearing green rubber bracelets (like the lance armstrong ones) while we are there, So if you see us Oct 6-11 laughing up a storm (which is usually what we are doing while together) then please feel free to say Hi!!!!!

Hi all -
Well, after reading this thread, I am definitely hitting Home Depot before our trip 10/3-10/12 to get the Mickeys. I had to laugh at myself - last 2 trips we checked into WL with TONS of curly lime green ribbon on the luggage - and the luggage stays in the room - LOL - not a good way to meet fellow DIS'ers!
I have met several people from this board in the past - we pre-arranged it) and had a wonderful time! Also great just to chat a few minutes in the parks!
We'll be at MNSSHP on 10/6 - DS(13) and DD(9) - wearing our as yet undecided costumes AND lime green Mickeys! Say hi - 'cause I'll be on the lookout for YOU!!!

My DH laughs at me each time we go to Home Depot I borrow a few Mickey heads (lime green). the only problem is that now I have alot of these heads and I don't know what to do with them (I'm not very creative) I was thinking about getting some ribbon and poking a hole in Mickey and wearing it on my backpack.

I just made up my lime green Mickey heads for the trip- I cut the Mickeys out from the paint chip card and sandwiched them together back-to-back. Then, I stuck clear contact paper to them, "laminating" them into one lime green Mickey head pack. Then, I used permanent marker to write my user name and 'DIS' on them. I punched a hole in them, and I will attach them to my backpack and lanyard.

I also made a lime green Mickey head into an ID for DD- she will wear it on her lanyard, and it has our cell phone #, resort, and other pertinent info on it.
