fellow cheerleaders?!...

hey just wondering if anyone lese here is a cheerleader. if you are what do you cheer for HS, JHS, all star, competition or football(or any other sport) the name of your squad, colors and mascott! its a lot, but i was bored and JW lol...

heres mine:
i cheer for a HS, football and competition cheerleading (im the only freshman on varsity comp... oh yeah!!) and our colors are navy, light blue, and white and we're the indians!

All-Star our colors are royal blue columbia blue and sliver, our highschool/state wont let all star girls be on a competitve high school team

i was a rec league cheerleader.. i went to disney 3 times for nationals

same with our school, if your on an all-star team you can't be on HS competition but you can do football cheerleading, its because the practices interfere...

whats the name of your all-star team?
our high schools competition program is new so we haven't goten to nationals yet ... hopefully this will be the year!!!

I'm a HS cheerleader on the Freshman squad. We cheer for Football, Basketball, and we can try out for compition. Our colors are Red and Gray and we're the redskins.

No kididng...plus I really don't get along with that crowd. I play sports instead...x-country, soccer, and track.

I guess it could be...maybe gymnastics like? I tried hgymnastics and failed miserably. (can't even a do a cartwheel)

I can't even do a cartwheel but I still do Cheerleading. Of course we don't have 2 tumble unless we do Compitition.

competition cheerleading is definately a sport, and i know im a cheerleader myself but i have to say football cheerleading isn't, at my school you have to do football cheerleading to be on competition
the cheerleaders at our school basically get along with everyone, and are not the "stereotypical" cheerleaders, i hate when people get the wrong idea of us and consider cheering not a sport... im glad you guys dont =)
i also play lacrosse and field hockey, but i dont get to play field hockey anymore because its the same season as football cheerleading

i agree.. cheering for football and basketball isnt a sport, the competition is. we work just as hard as to be the best. People think that football is tough, im not saying it isnt tough.. it is.. in football, the players have pads, they throw around a ball, well we don't have pads.. imagine the top girl falling out of a double down, and lands on you, no pads, no helmets. Cheerleaders throw around people.. if you don't catch the flyer, well.. i think you see where im going.. sorry if i ranted..

Haha well almost any sport you can get hurt. Im not saying you cant get in cheerleading cause dang that would hurt. I seriously think a really dangerous sport is waterpolo. All you have is ear guards. That ball can knock you out hard. Not to mention the players, dang are they brutal.

SKEEBO SAYS WHA? i totally agree with you there are so many contact sports that are very serious that you can get hurt in like football, but there is nothing like cheerleading. in football they throw footballs and tackle with padding in cheerleading we throw people 20 ft in the air and catch them without protection. ive gotten injured plenty of times and seen my fair share of MAJOR injuries... we had a girl practicing her back tucks at our competition and someone called her name while she was in the air (how stupid!!!) and she frozeand landed on her neck, she couldn't do anything for 4 weeks and we had to replace her last minute... and you wereen't ranting... i was lol

Lil_Tink: i agrre on you with water polo... a lot of people overlook it, i have a friend who's cousin is AMAZING and could've made pro or something like that (lol.. idk if it was the olympics cause idk if theres an olympic water polo team but she almost made one of those major teams but watever it was she was too young)... she is an amazing player though and the games i've been to are brutal... and if you can fit it in you should definately try/ do cheerleading its A LOT of fun

omg! ive seen that happen at a competition... it was horrible.. and the back kept going has her nose was bleeding! its what you have to do but i dont know if i wouldve been able to keep that composed! i hate when the flyer opens her arms early out of doubles, that happened to me and i got knocked out and punched in the nose i know have a bump there for remmebrance
i also had a girl fall on me in a cradle, she sat and landed on my chest while i was in backbend position basically and i collapsed under her... i know have major back problems i also broke my thumb in that little incident.. and my coaches didn't even realize it and made us keep stunting, and im not one to complain, so i didn't say anything and just bursted out crying in the car ride home
