feeling sorry for myself

I just want to vent a little because I am feeling sorry for myself. Today is my birthday and it kind of sucks. My DH has to work all day, so we celebrated this past weekend which was great. My MIL and FIL brought us pizza last night for dinner which was also nice. I guess I am feeling a little bit mad because my mom and dad said to meet at McDonald's tonight, since they were having an old car show and everything and they had my nephews whom I don't see very often. We planned on meeting. I called them at 5:20 and told them that we were there and that it was busy. I told them where I parked and my DS and I saved an area for all of us to sit. We waited 1 hr and 20 min. They never showed up. They never called back. Nothing. I just feel upset because I had a huge migraine headache and my ears were sore (Meniere's disease) and I didn't feel like getting out, but they were like your nephews really want to see you and my DS would like to be there and then they don't show up. Needless to say, I barely got a Happy Birthday out of my mom before she was complaining about my nephews.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm sorry hopefully nothing happened but I will say Happy Birthday to you !
its okay to vent & feel sorry for ourselves every now & again otherwise I'm sure you'd agree you have a DS a DH with a job life is good ;-)

That's dreadful of your mom to make you wait so long in a public place! Boy are some people inconsiderate (even moms)! You have every right to be annoyed.
Don't let it get you down! It's your birthday so try and stay happy!party::bday:party::bday:

:hug::hug:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday!!! And you're a better person than I am, when I get a migrane, nothing can get me to move!

And I learned recently how to deal with Mothers like that. Call them on it. Tell her it's inconsiderate to not call someone to let them know they aren't going to show, and hello, it's your birthday.

Of course, make sure everything is all right & no one is bleeding out of their eyeballs before you lecture.

Thank you all for your nice replies. I am just very upset with my family. I had acquaintances wish me a happy birthday today on facebook, but not even one member of my family. Just a little frustrated.

Happy birthday to you!

I hope your headache improves soon, as well. There are fewer things more painful than a migraine!

You said your husband took you out, and your inlaws bought you pizza, no?

I don't get it :confused3

I'm confused, and maybe I missed something, but did your mom and dad eventually show up, or no? You mentioned that they never came and never called, and then in the last sentence you said that you barely got a HB out of your Mom. That's the part I'm confused about.

I wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

No they never showed up or called when we were suppose to be there. When I mentioned the HB part that was on the phone earlier today when she was complaining about my nephews. Sorry about the confusion.

Oh, I see now. I can see how you would have been extremely dissappointed that they never showed up and never called, especially since they invited you to meet them at the McDonalds. That's pretty rude to not even call and let you know that they could not make it.

I'm sorry this happened.

I totally understand how you feel and I am sorry your own parents did this on your birthday....very inconsiderate of them for sure.

Happy Birthday wishes to you. Maybe you and your DS can do something special this evening. As hard as it is try not to let your family bring you down.

:hug:Happy Birthday!!
I'm sorry your parents disappointed you today.

But how about those inlaws!!:cheer2: Know that there are plenty of people that cared about your birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

That was rude and I hope that they have a good excuse. But it's still your day so do something fun. Right now!

So sorry your parents let you down, that was indeed very inconsiderate :guilty:. Don't let it get you down and do what you can to live up to your Dis name. :grouphug:
