I have always been healthy and all of a sudden I'm facing several medical diagnoses. I am 22 and in college and started experiencing severe swelling of my ankles and calves along with discoloration, numbness/tingling, bruising and severe pain. I ended up in the ER a few days ago and was admitted after being diagnosed with a DVT in my left leg and severe, rapidly progressing acute Glomerulonephritis and Lupus (which has caused the DVT and the kidney disease), along with a more minor issue that contributed to my severe pain (Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome). I now have an Ortho, a Nephrologist, a Vascular Doc, and a Rheumy. I went from only having a GP to having four specialists and now face a lifetime of illness, meds, and pain.
I was admitted but hope to be home within the next few days, once they can stabilize my high blood pressure and relatively restore my failing/poor kidney function.
Anyone have any of these issues, especially at a young age?
