Feeling sad, may I have a DIS hug?

Let me just keep it simple so I don't cry again, the job...DID NOT come through and only because I didn't have call center experience. I was told my interviews made it very hard to turn me away, but obviously not. I just don't understand, and I guess I knew that right about the 7th day of no phone call, it wasn't coming through. I just tried to keep my hopes up. He said he was still sending the letter of denial, but thought he owed me the phone call since I called him 3 times. I really don't understand and I'm soooooooooo lost right now. I feel as though I'm "stuck" at Ruby's...AGAIN! :( :confused: I REALLY don't want to be there anymore, but where do I go...where? I thought this was it, I really thought GOD had dropped the perfect opportunity in my lap...must of misread that one.

Sure could use a DIS hug and a new job. Any panhandlers out there, I'm looking.

Thanks,
Denise :( :(

I am so sorry! {{{HUGS}}} People keep telling me that the right thing will come along, so I will pass that along. If you are like me, you are thinking "WHEN?""

I just want to offer another {{{HUG}}} and say that I am really sorry that that the job did not come through.

I am so sorry you did not get the job... {{{{{Hugs}}}}

I know it is not much consolation but when I did not get the job I wanted, there was always something better waiting.
Really...it led me back to a veterinary clinic. Right where I want to be.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I've been waiting to hear an update from you. :(

On the bright side, you got some great interview experience, maybe that was what this was all about for you. :)
The interviews may have polished your skills for when THE job comes along.
Hang in there, if you can. It's hard to work at a job you don't like...but you apparently hide your dislike well, since you were "discovered" while working ON your current job!
:)

Denise, a BIG {hug} for you, my very best. As said above, you will find what you are looking for, in due time. Sometimes 'due time' seems like eternity, but it happens, trust me, you'll see, and then think back to this. Do not however, give up your desires and goal making. Keep at it, you WILL succeed.

{{{BIG HUGS}}}

Sorry that it didn't work out. I know it is hard to think of this way for now, but maybe it is for the best. There's probably something nasty and horrible about the place that you wouldn't have known until you got there then it would have been to late. :eek: You just never know.

Wishing you the best!!!!

Kind thoughts and prayers for you . Things will get better.

Steve

I am so sorry, Denise. {{{HUGS}}} I hope something even better comes along for you.:D

Oh Denise, I'm so sorry, you did sound perfect for the job. :(

I do believe that things work out the way they are meant to be, and that there is an even BETTER job out there for you.

{{{HUGS}}}

I'm so sorry to hear that. I know it's really hard to understand when these things workout the way they do. I was in your situation a year ago. I had just found out that I was getting an interview to work in the Walt Disney World International Program, then September 11th happened and I definitely rethought my plans as the world seemed to be on the brink of war. I didn't know what to do next or where to turn. That year I stumbled into film and now I just think how if I had gone to work in WDW, I would never have had that opportunity. I've found my passion in life and what I've chosen to do as a career. So just as God closes a door, he opens a window. You'll see, something great will come along.

My DH is a supervisor of Tech Support Call Center, and its not fun.. trust me!

The hours are rough, you get real idiots on the other line (for example he gets customers that think the CD rom on the PC is a drink holder!), and its very very stressfull. He had one job where he needed to answer the phone within 15 seconds, and the call needed to be diagnosed, fixed and other things within 90 seconds...

I have waited tables as well, and it may seem very "unglamourous", but it does pay the bills. It is not easy, and truly shows your skill with people and multi tasking.

As for the lack of experience, that is a tough spot to be in.

As for waitressing, for a little more income, would you consider the higher end restaurants. My friend worked at a very fancy (think 5 star restaurant), and she made about 50K a year! She is a college graduate, and makes more money this way than in another position in her major (English Major!)
