Feeling overwhelmed..need prayers, good thoughts (LONG)

Thanks everyone for your kind words and prayers.


Just got back from Destiny's psychiatrist. Overall she is seeing improvement, but she still has a bit farther to go before we start taking her off her medication. She says the nightmares aren't from her meds, but are likely a further manifestation of her anxiety. Anyway, I was talking to her about DH as she said Destiny is like a sponge and picks right up on the feelings in the household and they can further cause her anxiety.

So anyway, she said first of all that she doesn't think he's on the right meds (which of course she is saying without seeing him, so that's just theory on her part) and that I need to tell him to go to therapy FOR HIS DAUGHTER'S sake if nothing else.

As much as I hate to lay a guilt trip on him that he could be furthering HER anxiety, maybe if he realizes how much his issues are affecting those around him, maybe that would be enough to spur him into going. So I'll see what he says to that tonight.

hugs and prayers to you dear. I know you've had a rough rode. Get your dh to see a therapist if at all possible. He really needs to talk these things thru with somebody besides you. I can't imagine meds with no counseling. I'm so glad about the bowling. You definitely need it.

Your DH might benefit from some grief counseling. Our hospice offers FREE bereaved parents groups and individual counseling to anyone in the community who needs the service. It would also have services for Destiny, for that matter. You might want to make a couple of phone calls and see if this is a possibility.
