Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

Marv get your mind outta the gutter:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Gutters? Downspouts??? :rolleyes1 This conversation is getting over the roof........
I love Dinasaur :love:So I will be okay with Spiderman for sure !!:banana:
And I bet there was no subconscious thought process that made you choose to use the dancing bananas??? :rotfl2:
i was thinking that the costumes kinda just look like ones you can get from a local costume shop for halloween, they didnt seem that extravagent for a theme park...guess you guys noticed the same thing.
:)
Apparently that isn't exactly what they noticed based on the earlier conversation. Now all we need is Pat here to talk about her tumble monkey...... :sad2:

Great updates, Lessa. I am afraid I would have been with Erich and your mom while you did the Hulk and probably the other attraction as well. You got some great shots of the superheros. :thumbsup2

Oh ok, thanks for looking that up for me! :goodvibes

I think if I ever go to Universal I might enjoy that section of the park, superheroes have always been interesting to me. Granted, I've never read the comic books or watched the cartoons, but I have seen a few of the movies. I still think it could be interesting though.
Oh man! I would have been so bummed to find that Ben and Jerry's was only soft serve! Who knew they even did soft serve? Not I. :confused3
Yeah those costumes... they do look a little Halloween-ish. That big metal-ish guy was pretty cool looking though. It also looks like Spiderman either had an itch or a crick in his neck when he was on his little racer thing.

Yep, I am the same, only seen the modern movies.

Yep, I never knew they had soft-serve either. :confused3

I am sure Mom had fun people watching and relaxing while we rode the rides. You don't need to be on a ride to have fun in the theme parks. :thumbsup2

 I missed having you around on the thread Marv! This is just the laugh I needed while taking a break from writing my term paper and studying for my microbiology midterm!

:rotfl2: Forget X-men, this is getting X-rated! :rotfl2:

It sure is! We better watch out or the mods are going to come shut us down! :rotfl:

I'm finally all caught up! You're an update WIZARD.

Love your updates about Universal Studios. Too often do Disney fans go to IoA JUST for HP and don't really pay attention to the rest of the park. I'm also a thrill-seeker so I'm really looking forward to all those rides!!!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of it. I've only ever been to the US side so I'm looking forward to seeing how much has changed since I've been there.

You can get cheaper refills of butterbeer with the souvenir mug, right? Or is that just with their other souvenir bottles.

 Nice one! ;)

Yep, I agree, it is a shame when that happens. It is such a great park and if you are paying all that money in admission you should enjoy everything that is included!

Not sure about that. I never tried to get a refill with the mug since it was dirty from the first drink and we had been carrying it around all day. Drinking from it without a proper washing would have grossed me out!

May 17th continued

Onwards to Toon Lagoon! The first thing we saw after leaving Super Hero Island was this pair of characters. I have no idea who they are but Mom seemed excited to see them. I am sure that Mom told me at the time but I have forgotten.

Then we ran into Bullwinkle. This is the one and only picture you will see of me from this day, I looked awful!

Toon Lagoon was a fun place to hang out. It is designed to be as though you are walking through comic strips. There are lots of phrase bubbles you can stand under and pretend that you are a comic strip character.

Hey, Heathcliff!

Nice face Mom! (Please don't kill me for posting this!)

Toon Lagoon is all about getting wet. The rides here are water rides and as you can see above there are fountains to play in as well.

Our next ride! Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges. I had heard lots about this ride and everything I had heard indicated that this was a water raft ride not to be missed. Unlike Kali Rapids where you can easily escape the ride with only a few drops of water gracing your clothing, this ride has you leaving completely drenched.

They are not kidding!

Another walk on ride!

I got to make good use of the waterproof function of my camera on this ride. These are some of my favourite pictures from the trip. Alek and Erich look like they are having tons of fun and it is not exaggerated posed photos like we usually take (well for the most part, there is a little bit of exaggeration).

As you can see the boys were completely soaked by the end of the ride and Mom and I were in no better condition. We LOVED this ride, it was so much fun! It is how every water raft/rapids ride should be.

There are those body drying machines near the exit that you can pay to use. You stand in them for a few minutes and they dry your clothes. We didn't waste our money, it was a warm summer day in Florida, we would dry soon enough and besides, we were off to another water ride!

GREAT photos on the Bilge Rat Barges!! :thumbsup2 This was one of our favorite rides too...but my DN6 HATED it and cried the whole time, which made it a bit tough for the rest of us to enjoy it. We were definitely pretty wet for the rest of the day though and couldn't wait to sit in the sun to try to dry off!

These 2 boys are Beetle Bailey and Zero from the comic strip Beetle Bailey...

Am I showing my age that I knew who they were???

looks like fun for sure, eventually ill get over there and see it. I live 45 min away now , i have very little excuse!

Lessa, what fun that looks like, and you can see the boys are really enjoying it. I doubt I could get Mark in there...he hates water rides; but I know that I would love it.

You got absolutely great photos.

I have only the faintest idea who most of those characters are in Toon Lagoon, and my DS will probably grow up not having even the faintest idea who ANY of them are. That is a little sad.

I think you are very brave going on those water rides without ponchos! I hate being wet, so there is no way you'd get me on them without a promise to return directly to the hotel room.

I have actually only been on Kali once, and that was because I had brought an entire new outfit of dry clothes to change into afterwards. :rotfl:

I guess I am showing my age, too. I recognized Beetle Bailey. I used to love to read the comic strip.

Isn't it fun? Exactly what a water ride should be! Roman Rapids at Busch Gardens used to be my fav raft ride but Bilge-Rats has now displaced it.:thumbsup2

 Thanks for letting me know!

Looks like FUN!!!! And I, too, knew who the two characters were (from Beetle Bailey).

It is FUN! Definitely ride it when you go. :thumbsup2

Mark can sit it out, it is your vacation too!
