Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

I wonder when the crowds will die down? In a few years since there won't be new movies?

Hmmm, good question. I would guess not for a few years as it is still new. I don't think the end of the movies will have an effect as Harry Potter is extremely popular, even without the movies. Time will tell!

Oooohhhh, butterbeer!!!! :lovestruc I only got to get one, because it was so cold I couldn't drink more than that. But I had the regular too and I loved it! I haven't had the frozen yet.

I loved the regular, the frozen butterbeer tastes kinda watered down in my opinion.

More great shots at Wizarding World. I have heard so much about that Butterbear -- Mark would love it.

Wow! Check out those crowds!

I am super anxious to visit WWOHP but those crowds do not excite me in the least. Makes me glad that we've decided to wait a couple more years until we visit Universal. Maybe some of the crowds will have died down by then.

Glad I'm getting a chance to visit through your TR though. Great pictures!

Yeah, it had gotten just a wee bit crowded in there during the two hours that we were in the Wizarding World. This is giving away my TR a bit but the crowds in the Wizarding World really cleared out in the late afternoon and the rest of the park was fairly dead the whole day.

I am so far behind I am trying to catch up..got about 10 more pages.. The hiking pics are beautiful... I love IHOP too stuffed french toast YUM!!! I can't wait to read about WWHP

Catching up!

Hi Myst! Glad to see you back! I hope this means that things are going well and Den's recovery is going smoothly. :goodvibes

Don't worry, the updates are picture heavy and text light, shouldn't take too long!

I'm not a HP fan, but it was still neat to see you enjoying it all so much. The crowds were unbelieveable though!! My goodness!

I can't wait to see where you head to next!

I think I'm all caught up! It was so crowded in the WWOHP! I don't have any interest in HP, but I'd love to go check out the ride as I've heard it's amazing. Thanks for the heads up on the regular butterbeer being good too.

Not a HP fan! That's okay, one less person to crowd the Wizarding World. ;)

Yeah, you don't need to be a fan to enjoy the ride although reading the books/seeing the movies does add an extra level of appreciation.

now is the butterbeer alcoholic or is it beer as in root beer? It looks awesome either way.

 Not alcoholic although the Hog's Head does have the "Hog's Head Brew". Personally I think they should sell firewhiskey!

i like the souveniour cup. suvenor suovenir

i like the take home cup.
:thumbsup2

 I use it lots here at home. Sadly it is no longer filled with yummy butterbeer. :sad2:

Darn it, I only tried the frozen butterbeer. I thought it was pretty bland. I wish I had gotten both now, I probably would have liked the regular one.

I really wanted to check out the stores but it was so hard to move through them, especially dragging Caitlin along with me. I hope you made it back later in the day so at least I can see them in pictures.

I thought that about the frozen as well, maybe there was something off with it that day as usually people rave about the frozen? We were there the same day/same time so maybe it was just a bad batch? The regular was delicious and you should definitely try it next time. :thumbsup2

Oh don't worry, we made it back. ;)

Flight of the Hippogriff actually used to be the Enchanted Unicorn or the Flying Unicorn or something like that. The baby coaster.

Dueling Dragons is now Dragon Challenge. That is the inverted twin coasters where it looks like you are going to hit the other coaster throughout the ride.

Basically they just rethemed the rides for Harry Potter.

Oh yeah, I heard that Legoland was coming to Florida, didn't think it would be open already!

Oh, thanks for the clarification...yeah the old unicorn coaster was really mild...never would wait an hour for 'that' one willingly.

Love your pics of the mountain peaks -- simply gorgeous.

HP crowds -- yikes!! But it also looks like the pathways aren't really wide so that just enhances the crowds. I guess they wanted to keep the feel of walking through town...

butterbeer -- if it's like a cream soda that sounds wonderful! I keep getting confused by the word beer and thinking it's an alcoholic drink...which would be tasty too!!

Can't wait to see where you go next? We loved MiB, Spiderman, Hulk coaster, etc.

I still can't believe that we were so close to Banff National Park when we were in Edmunton. I've been showing your pictures to my dh. He told me he thought it was the end of the Rocky Mountains and was only something to drive to and back so he convinced me not to go.
Hopefully our President signs the new energy bill and we will buy oil from Canada, but it is just one more thing people are protesting, they don't want the pipelines. But we are definately going to go hiking/camping next year, no tenting, but did you see places for RV's at the camp sites?

I so want to take my dh to Universal, but thanks for the warning with the ride. My dh gets sick just looking at a ride., I'll never get him on it now.

Yeah, they purposefully made the pathways and shops small and narrow so it would be more true to the books/movies. Great for atmosphere, not so great for crowds.

:lmao: "Just the end of the Rocky Mountains". You will have to go visit. Banff and Jasper are both worth a visit. There are definitely places for RV's. The camp site we stayed at had a separate area for RV's outside the bear fence. Here is the link to the Parks Canada website with all the camping spots in Banff. http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/ab/banff/visit/visit9.aspx
