Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

They were VERY nice and polite when we met in 08:thumbsup2

 I guess Mom should be proud that she raised them well.

Anime Area? Inside the store? Must take Jimmy here!

It is at the back of the pavilion. You can get to it from the store or from outside. If approaching from inside the store you need to go all the way to the back room where the dishes and sake bar are located. There is a set of doors that lead outside, exit through those. The museum is on the right.

If approaching from outside head to the very back of the pavilion. You will pass through the moat area and past a samurai statue. The museum would be on your left right before you would enter the store.

I'm all caught up again. Looks like a fun day, even if the Kim Possible mission was a bit of a flop. Too bad that the rain made you miss Remy and Emile, though. I want to try the pick-a-pearl on our next trip. It looks like fun!

You should try the pick a pearl, so much fun and you can get a nice piece of jewelry out of it. :thumbsup2

we really wanted to do the pearl the last trip but forgot all about it.

there is always next time though.

:thumbsup2

your pearl looked great and i liked your setting for it

I bet Candi would love the Pick a Pearl. :thumbsup2

that's a great place to wander away some time! i love both the pearl settings! i had to stiffle a giggle when i scrolled down to the kimono pic. i'm not sure why, i just wasn't expecting it :lmao:

 Well it did look like he had no shorts on. The kimono has pants that go with it but he didn't try those on.

Okay, your brothers are NUTS! :rotfl: I love it! They seriously have the best time for themselves and that is great! They have been cracking me up!

LOVE the "young love" story. How cute is that?! hahaha I love how the parents played along with it :lmao:

Mmm 50's Prime Time. That made me so hungry!!

I WISH I could fit in Chef Mickey's for dinner on my next trip, but sadly I have no room left :( I have it for breakfast though. But I just want a dang Mickey Dome!! Oh well. Next time!

HAHAHAHA Beaches and Cream. SO FUNNY! I just laughed so hard about people spectating the event of the Kitchen Sink. That's hilarious. Ahh I wanna do that someday. But I need to have a lot of hungry people with me. Because if I go with my parents, they'll eat a little and then I will be expected to eat the rest  And the problem is that I would eat like 5 times too much.

That Sleeping Beauty is SO pretty. Haha I want to be a princess princess:

Ohhh Disney Rainstorms. They're crazy. They are fun but they also are annoying at the same time.

I kind of want to do Pick A Pearl on my next trip! Are there a lot of cages to choose from?

From reading your trip report... I now have added to my list T-Rex, I want to do a Beaches and Cream Lunch, and I want to do Pick A Pearl. I also want to do Chef Mickey's, but that won't fit at all :( Hopefully 2 or 3 of the others will happen! I also love that you stayed at Coronado, because my best friend is staying there in August and I love seeing pictures of it! BEAUTIFUL! :thumbsup2

Actually Mom, I have scanned all slides it is just that I didn't like getting my picture taken in my teen years, guess you don't remember that. ;)

They didn't have cameras when I was a teen:rotfl2: That;s my story and I'm sticking to it:lmao:

I think you will be disappointed if you ever meet them, they will probably turn into polite and well behaved young men. I remember when Mom, Erich and I met DM in Syracuse she thought he was very polite and quiet! :lmao:
How could they be reserved around Rosie whi gave them their nickname !!!:rotfl2:

They certainly do know how to have fun, sometimes too much fun!

 That just means you will have to do it on the next trip. :thumbsup2

Me too!

I kind of want to do Pick A Pearl on my next trip! Are there a lot of cages to choose from?

Not very many cages but they had a pretty good selection of settings.

 Glad my report has been "helpful". ;)

Hey , I read your latest update yesterday, but need to go back and comment on it! Hope to get to that today!

:thumbsup2

They didn't have cameras when I was a teen:rotfl2: That;s my story and I'm sticking to it:lmao:

Why Rosie, I had no idea you were born in the early 1800's. :rolleyes1 You certainly don't look 200 years old!

How could they be reserved around Rosie whi gave them their nickname !!!:rotfl2:

May 14th continued

After waiting out the storm for over an hour in Japan the rain dwindled, for the moment....

We made our way onwards to the next country but we decided not to stop.

IMG_1269.jpg

Next up was La Bella Italia! I love this pavilion probably because I love the actual country so much. I visited for 2 1/2 weeks in the summer of 1999 and fell in love. I can't wait to go back someday.

Mom had me put on the Italy Ears.

IMG_2656.jpg

We had tons of fun in Italy mocking our horrible stepmother who happens to be Italian. Whenever we see anything that relates we are reminded of her. She is one of the stupidest people I have ever met. I am not exaggerating as a result of my dislike, she truly is stupid. For example, she and my father live in a tiny town in British Columbia. There are two highways, one that goes north-south and one that goes east-west. Despite living in this town for two years she still cannot remember how to get to the highway despite the fact that they regularly use it! :headache: I had only been there a few days on our first visit and I could probably direct somebody to the highway! I will have to secretly record one of her conversations when we visit my dad in a few weeks as I don't think people believe our stories about her. It is a pain having to put up with her for two weeks a year but at least she provides us with much amusement. ;)

Moving on...

IMG_1270.jpg

I just love these masks, so beautiful! I purchased a Carnival mask when I was in Venice but it is nowhere as pretty as these ones.

In the perfume section of the store I found a scent that was simply wonderful. I just wish I could remember what it was! I will have to look for it next time I am there. I think it may have had something to do with Magnolia?

I wandered to the back of the pavilion to check out Via Napoli. We had a dinner reservation for that evening but I was pretty sure we were not going to be keeping it, we were stuffed from lunch still and the food there is too expensive to order unless you are actually hungry and able to eat your dinner. The counter service pizza window was open so I knew we could always have lunch or dinner from there at some point during the trip.

This little area reminds me so much of the Doge's Palace in Venice, they did a wonderful job creating this pavilion.

Mom, Alek and Erich had finished looking around before I did and were waiting for me on one of the outdoor benches. Can you spot Mom waving at me?

IMG_1277.jpg

Having finished with Italy for the day it was on to Germany!

Before reaching Germany I saw Rapunzel's tower. I'm assuming this was put up for the Flower and Garden Festival, does anybody know if they left it up after the festival ended?

IMG_1278.jpg

IMG_1280.jpg

You can hear Rapunzel singing the enchantment song and at night her hair glows as she sings. I loved it! I just love Tangled and I love the song. Here is a video: Rapunzel's Tower Video

Alek and Erich seemed to be wanting to move on from admiring the tower so we continued to Germany. I had been wanting to try something from the Caramel Store but I was way too full to eat anything. I knew I could just get something another day.

We didn't spend much time here, I did spot a cute nurse Minnie crystal figure.

IMG_1283.jpg

I spotted a photopass photographer set up by the water so I dragged the family over for some photos. I had never seen a photographer there before so this would be a new photo spot for us.

Love the update:thumbsup2

I am so jealous that you have been to Italy. I would love to go there someday. DH stopped there for like a day when he was in the service so he has "been there" according to him.

:laughing:I am guessing your step mother doesn't read this boards?

I hope you get to go, it is so beautiful there and I just love the history. I really want to go back, the camera I had back then was not very good and my photography skills weren't great either. I would love to go back with a nice camera and really explore the country.

:laughing:I am guessing your step mother doesn't read this boards?

No way! My dad doesn't know anything about my trip reports. In fact, this is the first Disney trip that we have taken (other than the 97 trip with him) that he even knows about. Anyways I don't think she can read English well enough to follow along even if she did know about it and had the desire to read. She is too busy being a gold digging harpy.

Awwww... sorry you didn't get to meet Remy and Emile. There's always next time though (:

Sounds like you enjoyed your Pick-A-Pearl experience! (: The CM seemed very nice and it sounded like she was saying through the video "You are very lucky!" so it must've been a good pearl. Nice settings too, especially the one your mom got :thumbsup2

Wow! It looks like it was really raining out there... or was that picture from 2009? Either way, doesn't look like it was a very friendly rainstorm, but good it clears up.

Oh, I love the Studio Ghibli stuff you found. I have a ton of friends who are/were obsessed with Anime and I've seen some Studio Ghibli so I find it very cool. The Studio Ghibli artwork is so nice. I mean, it's nothing like regular Japanese anime. :)

Love the pictures you took around Italy! I've always wanted to visit there. My grandfather is 1/2 Italian, but he is very into that half of his heritage. My mom's side of the family are definitely Italians and it looks so pretty from what you (and Disney) says (shows) Those masks are definitely very nice ::yes::

Oh that's so cool about her hair glowing at night! I never knew that about her tower, but I knew she sang. That's so cool! If only I had spent more time in WS when I was last there and taken a picture of that. :sad2: Great Photopass pictures as well, especially the tinkerbell one (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I hope the Tangled tower is still there too! I'd love to hear more stories about your Italian stepmother :lmao: She sounds like a real jewel. Great photopass spot.

I finally caught up on you report. I think we were in Epcot that same day but we arrived when the rain almost stopped by the time we got off the plane, checked in and headed over. I love that photopass shot, we didn't get to see any of the characters that day.

Hi Leesa. I read about your trip to your dad's last year. Did you ever figure out why your step mother was so mad and wouldn't talk to you? It's really dumb that she can't get over herself.

I wish I could see the Rapunzel tower in person, it sounds neat. :thumbsup2

They didn't have cameras when I was a teen:rotfl2: That;s my story and I'm sticking to it:lmao:
sure they did, its called a hammer, chissel and slate rock.

Lessa, I love the update. Those masks are beautiful. I can't help you with the scent because I actually get sick when I walk into those perfume stores.

That is a great place for a photopass picture and they turned out great. I like the ones with you and your Mom and Tink the best. :thumbsup2

Awwww... sorry you didn't get to meet Remy and Emile. There's always next time though (:

Yep, they would be out the next day for the final day of Pixar Weekend and we had plans to try again. ;)

I think they always say "you are lucky". We hear it every time we watch somebody getting a pearl.

Nope that was a picture from this trip although it is nearly identical to a picture from 2009.

You should check out the rest of their films, they are great. :thumbsup2

 Yes, a definite jewel. :rolleyes1 Hopefully I have some good stories for you when we get back from BC in August.

Oh yes the 2009 trip, I asked my Dad to e-mail me if he ever found out as I was very curious. Apparently she had several "reasons". She said we were too loud (because we would laugh and joke around with our dad and debate things), she said we were unhygienic as she found food crumbs on the leather sofa. First of all we showered every day sometimes twice when we hiked and never wore the same clothes twice without washing them, can't say the same for her. Also the food crumbs, how does she know that was us, anybody could have had food crumbs on them that fell onto the couch. She said that we were not appreciative of how she went out of her way to make our visit comfortable. Other than making way too much food and trying to shove it down our throats I am lost as to have she went out of her way. She also didn't like a joke that I made about what we should do if a bear attacked us on a hike. All I said was that we should trip her and run as Italian food is tastier than Canadian. :rolleyes1 What is so offensive about that? Anyways, there were several other reasons that I cannot remember at the moment.

When we went last summer (2010) things went much smoother. She was still ridiculous but she didn't stop talking to us halfway through the visit. Although she did refuse to eat the peanut butter cookies I made even though I forced myself to choke down some of the nasty stuff she made!

sure they did, its called a hammer, chissel and slate rock.

No problem. ;)

I know what you mean about perfume stores making you sick. That store wasn't too bad but I sometimes have a hard time being near the perfume counters in department stores, especially when I shop with one friend in particular as she likes to try a million different perfumes. Gives me a headache.

your step mom sounds like quite a character!

i had no idea that Rapunzel's tower glowed at night! wish we had seen that!

I thought I would share my Italy pictures with you from my high school trip. You can see how well the Italy pavilion represents the country, well Venice, and you can see why I need to go back (to get better pictures and of course to tour the country again). :thumbsup2

I traveled with four girls from my high school and two chaperons who were pretty useless. They were nice enough ladies but looking back on the trip if I were a parent I would be horrified to have them chaperoning my teenage daughter in Italy. We were on an educational tour and met up with a much larger group of students from San Francisco.

We flew into Milan but did not spend anytime there. Once we all arrived we were herded onto our bus and taken to Verona.

Verona was a very lovely town although we did not have much time here. Our "chaperons" sent us off to explore on our own while they did their own thing. I remember shopping and having my very first taste of real Italian pizza, it was the best pizza I have ever had!

We then drove to a seaside vacation town near Venice where we would spend two nights.
