Ok im feeling really disorganised today. My Photography, Video and hair and make up is all sorted. Im waiting for my invites to be posted and the Disney side of the wedding is pretty much taken care of. I just feel like im forgetting things. I still ahve to sort out the programs, rings, welcome party gifts etc. :guilty:

Can you guys please help me and tell me what i need to remember to do? :listen:

Im probably just having a panic day! I just Dont want to forget things until the last minute!

Thanks in advance for your help! :goodvibes

I don't know if this will help you much.. right around the time we decided to do a Disney wedding I sat down and made a list, all at once... of everything I could possibly think of for the wedding. I have it in a program called Microsoft Project - (which is ridiculously expensive.. but I have it through work) You could do the same thing in excel - and then have columns for due dates, costs, and who's responsible for what.. etc.

This weekend I decided to make a box, where we will put all things related to the wedding - things that we have to remember to bring like our champagne flutes, and things I don't want to have to keep looking for, like the Disney postage we got and the seals for our invitations. We have a similar box by the front door for going to disney - it has our park passes, our FL sunpass for the tolls, our water bottle straps, etc. anyway, it really helps when everything is in 1 place and you train yourself to look there!

Also I have a totebag, I am keeping all the wedding planning stuff in, a few magazines, the Target wedding planning binder, a folder with all the print outs from disney, like the menu's, the wishbook print outs, etc. A notebook where we keep all the random ideas and notes, for example we will hear a song on the radio and decide we want to have it our wedding, so we jot it down on the music page in this one notebook, even if it's just a few words, then we can go back and google it later. It's nice because I can just grab it and bring it anywhere - even look at things in the car while he is driving.

I too suggest using the computer for help. I have a spreadsheet that has about 10 or so different sheets. One for guest lists and tracking responses, budget, actual expenses, food breakdown, etc. Mine's a little different because I'm having a wedding at home and then heading to Disney for our Disneymoon but the stuff is all the same. I've put it all on a thumb drive so I have it with me at all times. I also have a binder with all of our contracts and other papers in. This way it's all in one place and I don't have to go searching for it.

I have a binder, its not so much the Disney stuff im thinking about because im pretty much sorted with that. Its all the "little" things like favours, welcome party gifts, groomsmans gifts, programs etc.

I carry around post-it notes with me. When I get an idea I write it down and then stick it where it needs to be after the fact. It really helps when I know I can't get to my binder or computer for awhile. :goodvibes

Hi Laura !
It sounds like you are doing all the things you need to do.
We also kept a folder with A-Z of the wedding in it, divided up for all the references that we would need.
When the holiday documents arrived, we put them in a folder in the suitcase with all the additional docs - birth certificates etc so that everything wedding related was in one place.

Like already mentioned, I also had a spreadsheet with all the "to do" items listed with target dates.

What is also worth doing is having a sheet with all the contact details of your vendors so that you can check in with them when you get there (eg Randy Chapman, Stan at STVS, FTW Planner/EM etc). I think I wrote these down on the wedding docs AND had them in my phone.......Oh, there's one - take a tri-band mobile phone so that you can be contacted. Randy generally called us at the hotel, but it was invaluable to have a mobile with me to be contacted by the EM etc.

It is amazing that you think you are not very organised, but when it comes to the big day, everything will be ready because you will have been through it a dozen times !! Also, the EM takes care of quite a few bits and pieces and generally helps out throughout the day, so dont worry too much.

I am sure you will have a wonderful time, I am very jealous......best of luck to you.

Regards,
Russ

my best advise is to tackle one project at a time. check out online for your wedding party gifts i found alot of good deals on amazon.com, personalcreations.com & exclusivelyweddings.com remember to get your marriage license or bring the documents you need to get a marriage license so you can get married. we bought ours through a wedding for you inc. which saved us time & headache. heather gave you a great break down above too. just keep things in perspective & enjoy some time with your husband to be. best of luck with everything laura, how much longer now?

Has anyone else made such a list.. might be nice to share them as I'm sure I am missing things too. As I mentioned above, I made my list all at once on a whim. When I showed it to DH2B the first time, he pointed out a few important things I had left out - rings, wedding license and officiant! :rotfl2:

If you have an account on The Knot - there is a customizble wedding planning checklist. I found most premade checklists a little restrictive.. since Disney will be handling so many things (ie. I don't have to search for different vendors) - so the one on the Knot is nice, because you can add things into your own personal checklist.

Making your own though is really nice -- if you don't have excel you can download Open Office for free. It's an open, free, full equivalent of Word, Excel etc. that is compatible with the microsoft versions. (Feel free to PM me if you need help installing)
