Feeling blue and need a DL fix...am I crazy to consider Easter Week?!

Hello,

We are thinking of going to DL on 4/9 for three nights. I want to see the Electrical Parade that I grew up with and I like it when the parks are open late. We have two kids, 8 & 5. Will it be super crowded? If we stay offsite, will they close DL during that week if it gets too crowded? I have reservations at the Sheraton Anaheim but could change to the GCH if I decide to empty the bank. I can't decide, any suggestions?

It will be the most crowded week of the month. They are expecting large, summer type crowds. Not saying you shouldnt go- but just be prepared to use fast pass, wait in lines, and plan to eat at off times.

Yep it will be crowded thats for sure. Use your fast passes and be prepared for wait times as mentioned above. If you can hold out for a different day around easter, you might be better off. Either way it will be a great day for you. ITS DISNEY Woot Woot!

I don't think you are crazy. We went through the same thing around Labor Day and planned a quick 2 day trip to get our fix. We never go to the park in the summer (I can't stand the heat!) so we prepared for the worst....and were pleasantly surprised. Because of good planning (fast passes!) and going at a relaxed pace, not expecting to see EVERYTHING....we had a wonderful trip!

Well, at this late date I think you will have no chance to get GCH for those dates. In fact many of the off site hotels are booked up that week. It wil be crowded, make no mistake about it.

I agree!!! Our family of 22 will be there and will enjoy every minute of it!!! We will be there for 4 days. Our family of 4 have been there 4 times and know most of the ins and outs. Just do some planning and know what to expect and enjoy the MAJIC!!!

I've been toying with the idea also. Our passes expire 4/16 and I thought about getting a quick trip in before they do. Plus my birthday is the 9th, what better place to spend the day?

Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement ! I still have my ressies at the Sheraton for 125/night plus tax and parking (? I think). I called the GCH a week ago and there was still availability (albeit VERY expensive).

Do you think they will close the parks to offsiters?

I agree it will be crowded!!! But also just FYI, not trying to change your mind, but the EP will be running all of April so you don't have to go just that week to be able to see it!!! Have fun! They will close the parks to new tickets first, then non resort guests, and then everyone!!
