Feeling a bit guilty. Tell me this is ok :-)

I could have written your post, word for word. We took the plunge this year too.

PS - when are you going? I'd love to see another Zip in WDW if you're there the same week we are (March 25 through 31st).

We will be there from Mar 22-28. :-) How old are your kids?? I have two teens, but they do not want to go....my oldest has classes at Akron U anyways...but my 2 little ones are 4 and 7

Don't feel the least bit guilty. We have a trip planned at the beginning of December. There are 5 of us going - 2 parents, 2 grandparents & 1 child. We are staying at BWI on Club Level and doing the DDP. I don't work, DH does and has job security as well. He's a gov't employee. We take one cheap vacation a year, usually to my parents place on the lake in MI and then one "nice" vacation which itself could vary. The only real reason we are doing BWI at CL and the DDP is because this is my parents' first trip to WDW ever and since we are paying for all of it, we wanted this to be and extremely magical experience with their grandson in case they never went to WDW again. I'm hoping that won't be true but you never know. Plus I also didn't want to worry about paying for meals OOP.

Enjoy your trip because I still remember my 1st trip to WDW when I was 11. I went with friends of the family and it was the most spectacular thing I think I did when I was that age. The only thing that would've made it more spectacular was if I had gone with my family. And that was eons ago not long after Epcot opened (I'm showing my age).

and you have the money to do this, enjoy your trip.

I think you need to consider why you feel guilty...is it because not everyone can go....that is always the case! GO! It it's because you cannot afford to go, don't.

4 and 7 are great ages for a first trip! I am so glad I took my boys when they were younger...they've informed me that on the next trip we'll have more time because now they don't need to ride the "little kid stuff" anymore. Sigh. I actually enjoy riding Dumbo and Peter Pan...we may have to split up for awhile next trip so mom can go do the baby stuff alone, lol!

Go, and enjoy! Your kids will have a blast!

We are headed down May9-16. I also wonder at times if we should cancel due to the economy. My husband is safe with his job and I think I am at least for another year or 2. I have most of the $$ put aside but sometimes wonder if I should just hold onto it. I figure we can still cancel if something drastic happens in the next few months. Have not told DS6 about trip just in case.
