ICK!! It was Zachy's Sports Day at School so down I trundled with Dan in the stroller and several litres of water as it has been pushing 32 the last couple of days. Got there in time to watch them play a little football(soccer) then had to wait outside for all the events to begin. Didn't realise that Zach was only competing in the javelin - I thought that each kid got to compete in a couple of events at least.
So there we sat in the blazing sun, moving from shady spot to tent to hedge following the kids round the circuits for 2½ hours. water was gone after an hour - mostly on the kids.

Now I feel rotten - really sick to my stomach - managed to force down meatballs in a homemade putannesca sauce and loads more water, but I'll have to see if I can last the night without shouting into the big white telephone!!

Oh sweetie. I hope you at least used sun screen. I suffer from "sun sickness" if I'm not protected by sun screen and wear polarized sun shades. If I don't wear those polarized lenses I get sun sickness anyway, no matter how much sunscreen I use.

Keep drinking water if you can. Go to bed early. Get some rest. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Go buy yourself some polarized sunglasses when you are feeling better and use them everyday.

I was wearing factor 60 sunscreen with a hat and my new raybans - and it was still way too hot - all the kids were pouring water over themselves, poor loves - shouldn't have held a sporting event on a day like today - just too hot for them. I missed a little spot on Zachs chest with the sunscreen and he has a lovely(not) red patch developing now.

Wonder if being to hot helps to melt down the fat quicker??

If you are dehydrated then you will see a loss but it won't be from losing fat. Get some rest. What are you doing out of bed, young lady? You need to take it easy.

I agree,
Get some rest! I wish the fat would melt every time I spent a long day out in the sun! Hope you feel better.

Sun sickness is the absolute worst. yuck :(

On a sidenote; even if you are not sensitive to sun....please please please do not take any antibotics and stay in the sun for even 20 minutes. My DH was in the sun on antibotics for about that long, and he now has second degree sunburn on his chest. (I put spf 70 on his back and arms...he forgot his front) Hundreds of blisters, two days off of work, two prescription medications...and hopefully he won't scar. But he probably will have some scarring from it. He was really really sick.

I'm not sensitive to the sun, (neither was he) but not it scares me to death.

Pixie dust on the way Elise! I haven't read the other responses but I can bet that everyone is suggesting that you drink lots of water! DO IT!!!! You just don't realize how quickly those high temps and that sun can suck the moisture out of you, so drink up!!! I hope you feel better today!!!!
