My DS is 4 and has a feeding disorder and can only eat foods like yogurts, pudding, he is starting to eat mac & cheese but he doesn't eat enough to make it a meal. When I booked the trip I was hoping he would be doing better by now but we go at the end of May and I'm starting to panic about him eating down there. I can't leave pudding in a hot locker all day and how would I get yogurt (we aren't getting a car) and keep it frig for me? We are getting a frig at Pop because he as a drink he needs to keep cold he drinks it twice a day. Help what do I do for him at the parks? Nancy

PACK A SOFT SIDED COOLER WITH ICE AND WHATEVER YOU NEED FOR THE DAY. eXPLAIN THE EATING ISSUE(IF YOU ARE EVEN ASKED) AND THEY WILL CERTAINLY ALLOW YOU TO BRING THEM IN, oops sorry all caps-
We packed quite a bit to have on hand as our oldest is autistic and very picky. If you bring a stroller, it will fit in the back most likely, if you rent one- you can hang it on the handlebars. HTH!

My youngest would only eat yogurt and fruit when we went on our last trip.We took a softsided cooler in the stroller and noone said anything negative. If you are flying you may want to have groceries delivered to your resort.I have read alot about people doing that on these boards.

If you call ahead to any sit down meals you've got planned, the chefs will work with you to come up with foods he can eat.

At the MK they sell yogurts at the Main Street Bakery.

And as the other poster said, you are allowed to bring in foods to accomodate a special dietary need.

We saw people bringing in all sorts of coolers (even people with actual rolling suitcases). You won't be stopped from bringing in food, especially if you have a medical reason for having it (I doubt that anyone will even question you).

At the parks, if you don't want to keep the yogurt or pudding with you, they may be able to keep it for you in First Aid. I know they will store medication and equipment.

The food courts usually also have yogurt, but may not have the type he likes if he is picky about the brand or flavor. I know the store at OKW, where we stayed, had pudding. You could try asking about the food court and store at Pop on the Resorts Board if no one knows here.

You have received a ton of great info. on this topic thus far, I just wanted to share our experience with eating issues:

Sorry if this is way off base, but DD also had eating issues when she was young. By age 18 months , she was diagnosed with both infantile aneroxia, bulimia, and major sensory issues (she would flap her hands very quickly anytime anything was in her mouth) .

She was classed as failure to thrive and was hospitalized a lot due to dehydration (from not eating and from sticking her fingers down her throat and making herself vomit daily ).

It was a very scary time and the doctor finally said either a feeding tube since she simply wasn't thriving or medication to make her hungry.

We opted for medication (cyprohedtadine, 4 mg). The doctor wanted her on it for min 3 months. After one month she had GAINED 3-4 pounds and there was a major INCREASE in appetite and huge decrease in eating issues/sensory issues. We opted to stop the meds after one months since there was such an improvement.

For us, it was like a miracle.

DD is now 8 and has no eating issues whatsoever. The only foods she still can't tolerate are what she calls "mixed up foods" (stew, spaghetti sauce, Chinese food etc)

I don't know if this would medication would help or not, but for us it changed everything in our life. She was also classed as having so many other issues, but as soon as she started finally eating, the other issues lessened considerably as well.
