Ok here's my question. I am leaving for WDW in just 22 short days and I am trying to plan my spending money for our trip. My ds and I are on the ddp, but my dd being 18 months is not. I am hoping to feed her off of everyone else's plates (8 of us in all), but I know there will be times when I need to get her something oop. So I have been looking over the new kids menus for TS and see that they are all fixed priced "complete" type meals for like 7.95. My dd will not need anything other than an entree, like say mac and cheese. I am guessing I can order just that, but wondering what it will cost. Has anyone done this recently and can give me some idea of the cost? Thanks!

We did this in December. The one that stands out was Mama Melrose. I believe they took $1.50 off the price when getting just the "entree".

My dd was just short of 3 when we went. We had 4 adults and never had a problem with finding enough food for her to eat. If you need to order something, maybe a order a side dish of mac n' cheese, veggie, etc. to supplement what the rest of you are having.

As the first reply stated, it's not cost-effective to order the kids' meal minus the trappings. It would be cheaper to order a "side" of something that is side-like (such as green beans), or to use an appetizer for the child. The price of kid meals is not consistent; there are still places on property where it's just $4 for the entree and small sides and drink.

DD was only 11 months when we went in Feb but she was eating some table food. We were at 'Ohana and the waiter brought her a bowl of mac n cheese without us even asking and did not charge any extra for her. I know that is out of the norm but I would always ask if there is a side of something that can be purchased b/c the kids meals are too expensive for an 18 month old. It seemed like a lot of the places we ate she was able to eat the sides. Liberty Tree Tavern and Crystal Palace were great for her! We also ate at the Grand Floridian Cafe and we ordered her a side of mashed potatoes that worked out well.
