Now that my 3 children (12, 10, and 10) are considered adults we won't be eating at many buffet/character meals. But we were thinking of trying Garden Grill. I was wondering if they are paying adult prices if they would still bring out some of the items offered on the childrens menu if we asked? The other place we will go is Chef Mickeys but I don't need to worry about the lack of choices there.

The other question I had is if the sit down restaurants still let adults order off the kids menu or since they changed the age range if they are being stricter about it.

We are DVC members going in March so the Dining Plan is not an option.

Thanks for your help.

We just got back from a trip with a 9 & 11 year old and at every TS we went to, except character meals, they always handed our 11 year old the kids menu! And trust me, the kid looks 11! It didn't seem like they were being very strict about the ages when we were there.

I would be shocked if Garden Grill didn't accomodate your menu requests and let the kids have some kid food.

We are in the exact same situation! (We'll be there in March as well.) DD is 11 and I've asked about her ordering off the kids menu in quite a few threads lately and it seems that they are allowing our "adults" to order off the kids menus! I am so relieved since our DD is so picky and doesn't eat much. I think we'll be okay.

We have taken our grandson (11) 3 times this year since the age changed (July, September, and December). We no longer do buffets, esp. CM because he only eats from the kids section. We have not had any problems with him ordering from the kids menus at sit downs. However, he loves Trail's End and even at adult's price of 10.99 for lunch, it's still a good deal.

Thanks everyone for your help. I am not as worried now. My boys almost always eat from the kids menu at WDW so I am glad that won't change.

We were just there from 12/16 to 12/23 and I have 2DD's 6 & 13. The 13 y/o ate off of the kids menu everywhere we went to eat. I just requested a kids menu for her (she eats like a bird) and I was never questioned about it. She looks 13 too.

We were just at WDW and my 11 year old was allowed to order from the kid's menu at Sci-Fi and Rose & Crown. When we ate at Cinderella's for lunch, I did have to pay the adult price, but she was allowed to order the chicken fingers. She's very picky and did not find anything on the adult menu that she would eat. We had no problems whatsoever.

I would be shocked if any WDW restaurant didn't accomodate your menu requests. If they're not out of their minds busy and if you're nice about it, I don't see why they'd turn you down.

Cheers!

My guess is they'll let you order what you want from the kids menu. I think there's a fair chance they'll still charge you the adult price though. (which sucks...coming from the mom of a 10 and 11 year old for next trip.)

If you want the character interaction without the adult charge for char buffet the garden grill had an ice cream social with farmer mickey and pals.We got a sundae in a dish made of a waffle cone glued with fudge to a choc chip cookie. It was like 7.00 per person and not too crowded. We booked through disney dining.

This experience is no longer available.

Bummer! We are goig for Easter and wanted to go to it again! Did they move it somewhere else? I am also thinking about trying GF afternoon tea.

My son is 9 and looks 12. He was offered the kids menu at each sit down meal and was given the child rate. No one asked us his age and they rightfully charged us.

Even at Cindy's breakfast, they gave him the kid's meal and treated him like a Prince.
