In a recent post of mine I mentioned how great the character experience is at DL now. There are a ton of characters running and they are so much more interactive. Well yesterday we went to DL and had a WONDEFUL time!!! The characters were great!!!

At 2:30 Mary Poppins and Bert were coloring with the children. Peter Pan, Wendy, Aladdin, Merlin, Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip all joined them. Oh and a penguin from Mary Poppins too pretending to serve tea. It was so cute and a TON of fun!!!

Later in the day 2 CM's were talking and I happen to over hear them. They were saying that all the people who were talking about how great the character interaction is should let city hall know. I asked them why? They stated that management would rather each character see as many people as possible no matter how impersonal it is. I just could not believe it!!! I can understand that they want everyone to have a turn but why take away the fun games and stuff. Even when it is not my daughter walking and holding hands with one of the princesses I do not get upset. I think to myself, that is so cute.

Maybe I am missing something here.

So if you love the character interaction as much as I do please let city hall know!!! Please don't let the whole park turn into an assembly line.

Autographs are fun but don't you think the children would remember dancing or singing or coloring with the characters more then just a signature on a paper???

I agree. We loved the way Captain Hook played with our boys(not even a well loved character at our house). My kids remember that more than their autograph from Buzz(a favorite with DS's). There are plenty of lines at DL without making all the characters be que lines as well. We'll certainly go by City Hall next time we're there in Oct. :)

Thanks for taking the time to stop by city hall! I am also happy to hear that I am not the only one who feels this way.

I loved the character interaction that we had during our trip to DL. My son met Snow White and she spent so much time with him. The picture is so cute because he's 12, but he just has the biggest smile on his face. Snow White was so awesome with him. He still talks about her.

I had posted this before, but it's on the same subject, so.... I happened to be standing in the right place at the right time when Minnie walked out of a door to do a meet and greet. Next thing I know, she grabs my hand and we were skipping down main street together. :cool1:

The next time I'm in DL, I'll be sure to stop by city hall. These are memories that will last my son and I a lifetime!!

I'll make sure to stop by city hall next time we're at DL. And tell my relatives and friends to do the same.

I have fond memories when my DS met the characters every trip we've gone, including Rafiki playing hide and seek by Dumbo when he was 2. How much fun it was when I was a kid. And earlier this month when we went to a character breakfast with our niece (who's 15 months old). Turk, Timon and Dale were wonderful with her. They played toss the napkin with her for extended periods of times. We were all (including our niece) laughing so hard we were crying and literally :rotfl2:. My brother in law and sister in law have great pictures and videos of her with the characters.

I have caught some of the most cutest interactions ever, some of it I took snapshots of. Goofy one time skipped off with a little boy in hand over to his house and his parents were cracking up as they followed behind. Or, I caught Buzz Lightyear chatting with a little boy as a CM video taped them. Another time, and this was hilarious, my sister and I were riding around in the Autopia cars. She stopped first at the end and standing there waiting to board was a kid with Dale! My sister looked up and Dale offered a hand to help her out of the car. I stopped behind her and got out, running over to take a picture of him in the car with the kid. He was going to drive, too! I whispered to my sister, "Only at Disneyland will they allow a chipmunk to drive! :rotfl2:

If you don't get a chance to stop at City Hall then be sure to email Disneyland! You can email guest services right from their web site. I do this after each trip with the good and the bad!

Side Note, we have been trying to catch Prince Phillip in the park for 3 years now and NEVER do! :guilty: My almost 7 year old gets disappointed every time!

We were just at DL yesterday for my daughter's birthday and at one point we saw Belle and Sleeping Beauty riding the Merry-Go-Round. You could tell it was a real thrill for all of the children on the ride to share that with the princesses. I was very impressed.

Prince Phillip is just about a regular there now. If you are there for a few days on your next trip to DL I can almost guarantee that you will see him. He is SOOOOOO much fun. He runs all over the park playing with everyone.

The character interaction sounds great - it makes me REALLY want to go to DL - RIGHT NOW! :rotfl2:
