Feedback on schedule for the week

We'll be visiting in September, staying at Boulder Ridge with one other family (first time Disney family).

4 adults, 9, 7, 7 year old girls. Up for lots of adventure, love to ride the thrill rides, not hugely into character meet and greets (have dinner at 1900 PF booked for one evening).

We arrive Saturday, leave the next Saturday. Arrival/Depart days will be spent at resort, maybe Disney Springs.

We have AP and the other family will have 4 day base tickets so we're limited to no hopping.

Basically it comes down to, do we 1) dedicate a full day to Hollywood Studios in addition to the DVC moonlight magic event we hope to get tickets to, OR do we 2) do 2 Magic Kingdom days instead?

Appreciate any advice. If anyone is interested here are the schedules I'm playing around with at the moment

A) Arrive, MK, Resort, AK, Resort/HS moonlight magic, EPCOT, MK #2, Depart
B) Arrive, AK, Resort, MK, Resort/HS moonlight magic, EPCOT, MK #2, Depart
C) Arrive, MK, Resort, HS, Resort/HS moonlight magic, EPCOT, AK, Depart

Toy Story Land will be open and I'm sure that will really impact HS - right now it's a 1/2 day park but in September who knows. All three of your options look great but it really depends on the DVC event. If you get the DVC event you should be fine but if not I'd say you need the day. With rope drop and a late closing you could do MK in a day with an afternoon break - the boat to and from Wilderness Lodge is really nice. In September you will want the break because it is still hot. You do have APs and even tho you are traveling with another family you may want/need a little time with just your own family so consider that option, too. 7 days of togetherness is a lot. We have traveled with others and it's really fun but it's ok to want to share some of Disney with just your kids. As for 1900 PF - we did the character dinner and it was nice but not my favorite. Mickey Backyard BQ might be fun on a resort day mid-week. Boulder Ridge looks beautiful. Have a wonderful time and share pics of the resort with us!

I agree, HS has always been a 1/2 day park for us. We usually do ToT, frozen show, star tours. Sometimes RnRc. We’ve never been able to get FP+ for TSMM and would like to try that this time and of course slinky dog dash. If we do get moonlight magic tickets our plan would be to head into the park a few hours early (I think we can get in 2 hours early), have FP in hand for slinky dog and maybe ToT and then hopefully TSMM will have lower lines (during event) since I assume most people will head right for the newer toy story rides.

Such a good point your bring up about having a bit of alone family time. Since we can book 7 days of FP I planned to get a few of my daughters favorite rides and surprise her with some mother/daughter time on our resort days. Will be fun to pop in for an hour or two and hit a few extra rides.
