I have been discussing with the kids which character meal they would be most interested in. I have a copy of the 2005 Birnbaum book so I went over each one. It seems they all agreed on the Restaurantosaurus. It was the menu that made them pick this one. I was wondering if anyone had been to this meal & how was it?

Thanks

Interesting choice, based on the menu???? It is just standard breakfast fare----if it is the food they are interested in, I would pick 1900 Park Fare as my first choice in breakfast buffet.

It was a fun meal, but I would only schedule if you had planned on doing AK that day. It is not worth a trip over there only for the meal.

Good luck with your planning!!!

We've had breakfast at DOnald's twice and really enjoyed both visits!! In 2003 we had one of the lastest seatings. In 2004 we had an 8:20 a.m. PS and liked it MUCH better.

We love this breakfast, it is a MUST do for us every year. This will be our 6th time going there! My kids love the food, the Characters are GREAT and the staff is always pulling one over on you! Gotta LOVE Donald!

I think for overall characters Chef Mickey's is the best. You get all teh basic mickey mouse characters and tons of great food.

Wow I am surprised with the quick response. I appreciate it. Meals for my kids are always an issue because my 2 younger ones don't like anything unless it comes in a bag w/toy. So half was based on menu the other half on location. My one son is a huge dinosaur fan so right away he was excited but then quickly asked what there was to eat.

I am planning on cooking most of the time while we are there but I would also like to take advantage of some things I think we would enjoy as a family as well as things we would otherwise not have the opportunity to do.

Because we are going in July I am planning on lunch in the cabin which will give us a chance to cool down and relax.

I say go for it. We loved it when we were there in October. The food was fresh, hot and really good. The characters were great too.

It is absolutely worth the trip to AK! This is a great character breakfast, and has become a part of our annual ritual. We think this one is in the not to be missed category.

Good food, great service, and great character interaction!

We've done this one twice, the first time with a late PS (after 10) the second time with an early one (8:15). I definitely recommend getting there early, things seem to get more crowded and chaotic as the morning goes on.

This place tends to get some bad reviews but we enjoyed it. It wasn't the very best food of the character breakfasts, but the setting is fun and it was nice to see Donald! We would go back. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

We have a PS for March 19 and are very excited. We just want to see "the Donald". As long as the menu is basic breakfast fare, my DGK are very happy.

LovePug - I love your Pug! :sunny: We have two pugs and sadly - :( can't bring them with. Oh well, will have to bring them back presents from WDW.

The food was plentiful, fresh and delicious. The characters that are there are the most interactive (playful) that we have encountered.

It is a must for us!

Have been to this twice and have been impressed both times. Matter of fact it was the one place my mother requested we go when I asked for input about a character meal everyone would like because she liked it so much the first time. I like it as well but my favourite for food is 1900 park fare.

Myst

We went a few years back, Good food, good service, cool surroundings and great character interaction, which I think is the most important for your kids...pick the char meal that has the Characters your kids would love to see.

Planning to visit in July for the first time. What is the earliest seating they do on an EMH morning?

They do a 8am seating, just don't try to drive to AK or you will be very late. The toll booths don't open until 8am even on an EMH day.

We did not like Donalds. Besides the trouble getting in, the characters were rushed, the hot food was cold on the day we were there (at 8:30) . Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace were way better during our trip.

We did this character breakfast back in 2002 and we had one of the last seatings of the morning. I figured we could "kill 2 birds" and consider it brunch. It was good food, but I agree that the characters seemed very rushed.

This restaurant is also used for lunch (a McDonald's type place) and I think with the later seating they were rushing the characters to get folks out of there so they could prep for lunch.

Because of this reason only, we felt it was NOT worth our money and we were very disappointed.

However, the food was good, the characters were great and I would do it again or recommend it if you don't pick the last time they offer.

We've been to Donald's 5 times and have loved it every time. We go mostly for the characters since my younger DS is a huge Donald fan and we all love Mickey and friends, but we also have found the food and the service to be good every time we've been.
