Also posted on the restaurant board but would appreciate input from UK DIS'ers too!

Our ADR window opens in a couple of weeks so I am trying to finalise our plans. Would love your comments/feedback on what I have so far as Disney has changed a LOT since my last trip in 2000. Do you think an 8am reservation the day after we arrive will be too much?

What what time is best for dinner with a 4 & 6 year old?

What would you change/add/remove?

I know we may not get all reservations on the days we want so will be flexible.

Day 1 - arrive around 3:30pm. Dinner at hotel.
Day 2 - Dinner at Crystal Palace
Day 3 - Tusker house breakfast
Day 4 - Garden Grill dinner
Day 5 - ????
Day 6 - Breakfast or dinner at CRT or Akershus - which is best?
Day 7 - Hotel breakfast - off to Universal/IOA
Day 8 - Universal/IOA then return to hotel for dinner
Day 9 - Be our Guest dinner - what time would we need to book to ensure we see MSEP and Wishes?
Day 10 - Tusker house dinner
Day 11 - TREX dinner
Day 12 - Chef Mickeys dinner + birthday cake
Day 13 - ?????
Day 14 - Fantasmic package mama melrose
Day 15 - Coral Reef dinner
Day 16 - Home

Thanks!

We always book an early breakfast the day after we arrive as you will be up with the jet lag.

I like a hotel character breakfast as they start serving a bit earlier and we are always hungry!

CRT breakfast is one of favourite meals since they revamped the menu last year :)

A few places that I didn't see there that are my favs are:

Sci-Fi Dine Inn at HS... very cool dining room and good menu.

Yak and Yeti at AK...Steak and Shrimp is an awesome dinner.

La Hacienda San Angel at EP...great Mexican flavors.

And personally, I would do lunch at Be Our Guest (if you can get a decent wait time because it is quick service) and have dinner at Tony's or the Plaza.

As for 8 am after arrival, it is really hard to predict how kids will react to a big time change. But you can bet they will be super excited about being at WDW. So, the second or third morning might be worse than the first since they will probably run on fumes until they crash. at least that is my experience, but all kiddos are different.

With our three year old twins we are eating dinner around 6 ish and then will snack later once they are asleep :-)

I would also look at sci-if rainforest cafe at Ak and yak and yeti they are great places!

For fireworks at MK I would try for a 5/5.30 ADR at BOG so you can have time to look around take pics have your pic with the beast, and then get a decent spot for parade and fireworks.

I would def do early morning breakfast day after arrival as you always end up waking really early through excitement and body clock! To me its the best morning to do this :)

My kids are roughly the same ages...I would say for your open day 13, try for 1900 Park Fare or Ohana breakfast. Both are character, both are great.

Oh- and both are resort choices so you aren't using another park ticket if that is an issue.

Thanks so much this is really helpful. I don't know what I'd do without this board! I think we'll do ohana and sci fi.

If you want Be Our Guest restaurant, have one of you on the phone to Dining Reservation number and one on Disney's online dining reservation service bang on 12noon when the booking slots open. We narrowly missed out on reservations for here - all slots were gone within half hr of the booking slots opening!! I've been told by the hotel we staying at that people queue up for hours in the hope of getting a cancellation dining reservation on the day!! May just be that we wanted a day that was popular but I couldn't say one way or the other. Hope you get to eat there though because it's supposed to be AMAZING off what other people have posted! :)

Oh wow popular then! I'll do my best but if we don't get in will do lunch instead.
Quick Q. With ohana being at a resort is it difficult to access from pofq?

Easiest way to get to Poly is bus to MK then hop on the monorail to the resort, monorail is so much fun too:)

Great choices.Im another one in the camp for Si Fi, its been our must do since kids were tiny.
We normally are awake about 4-5am first morning itching to get out so 8am reservation will be fine, and if you cant get 8am i would say earlier would be doable too:thumbsup2

Thought I would just add that our DD was just 5 on our last trip and we had dinners ranging from 5.30 to 7.30. We eat dinner at 6 at home most days but can be later.

I also noticed that all your restaurants are in the parks - there are some great restaurants at the resorts. These are some of our favourite 1TS:
  • Grand Floridian Cafe
  • Captains Grill - YC
  • Turf Club

What about a dinner show or signature restaurant? They are both 2 credits. Hoop Dee Doo at Fort Wilderness is excellent and our DD laughed the whole way through :thumbsup2 (For your 2 credits it includes all you can eat food, gratuity and best bit there are certain beers and wine included too!)

For a signature we love Yachtsman Steakhouse :lovestruc We are trying the new Cali Grill in December. Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge is another good choice.

We rode the boat over from POR and it was awesome...early morning ride took us virtually to the door.
