Hey all! I would love some feedback on my outline...Do any days have too much packed in? Any times not feasable? For you with kids is the balance of rides and play time activities ok?

TIA,
Sarah

Sounds like a very good rough outline. Couple things:

1) Fantasyland rides on your first day will probably be pretty crowded at that time. Better to do them in the morning of another day, unless the kids are just dying to get on a ride.

2) On Thursday, I don't think you will have enough time to really explore the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and Disney Animation AND see Muppets/Monsters all between lunch and 4:15. RCCT is great for the kids to run around for a long time. Disney Animation (including Turtle Talk) takes at least an hour-an hour 1/2 to see most of it.

3) No MM? Is it because you are AP holders? If you don't have MM then yes, Friday would be a good time to go to Fantasyland in the morning.

4) If you really want to look around Toontown a lot with the kids, I don't think you'll have time on Friday between Fantasyland and 11:35. Say FL takes an hour to do (fair estimate), then by 10 Mickey's House will have a line and the other attractions in Toontown might be a tad crowded. OR, you could split up Toontown into two different days. See Mickey and Minnie's House on one day and the rest of the stuff on another.

5) No Nemo?? I don't see it on your list and the kids would love it. It's best done IMMEDIATELY after park opening or during the parades or last thing at night (which can be tough with the kiddos). The problem is that without MM, the only non-MM morning you have is one for Fantasyland. Therefore, the lines might be pretty lengthy during your entire visit. Best bet is to grab some ice cream or something to keep the kids busy, hop in line during one of the parades and just wait it out (30-45 min tops)

Otherwise, it seems as though you are prepared and have done your research.

Thanks so much for your reply. I have changed some things around using your suggestions. I have an ap so no mm for me, however my dfamily does get mm so if they want they could be there at that time. I can't picture my dh taking the kids with out me though. We'll see!

Here is my new outline

DISNEYLAND OUTLINE

Wednesday September 16, 2009
Hours: DL 10-8/DCA 10-6
Enter park around noon (If the parks are crowded, run down and grab a fastpass for Buzz, while kids see a character or or something on mainstreet, but if it is slow, then fast pass won't be open or needed, which was my experience on Sept 9, also a Wednesday)
Take train around park and get off second time at NOS
Eat lunch at Hungry Bear
Ride Winnie the Pooh Get a Treat at Pooh Corner:banana:Get fastpasses for something on way to Jungle Cruise I would grab Indy, so that you and hubby can do a kid swap on it laterBuzz Lightyear
Autopia I would do Buzz on the way, and do stop and play at the giant floating marble
Mickey’s ToonTown
Dinner at French Market
7:00pm Celebrate! A street parade
Swim at hotel

Thursday September 17, 2009
Hours DL 9(mm)/10-8/DCA 10-6 I would show up for MM. I would be very surprised if the CM did not let you go in with your hubby and kiddos. If not, then maybe he will be courageous enough to go with out you? You could always set a priority seating for Minnie's at 9, and that way if you can't get into MM, then you could do Minnie and friends. Or, you could just walk over to Paradise Pier and eat at Lilo and Stitches off of the menu, and then go into DCA from the Grand California entrance Even if you got into MM you could still do DCA opening
Breakfast outside park (Mimi’s?)
Enter DCA at park opening (be there by 9:30am)
Grab a fastpass for Soarin’
Run to TSMM Do Screamin Single Rider Line if either of you like itCheck out boardwalk
Go to bugs land
Lunch Taste Pilots Grill
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail This place gets super hot if it is a warm dayCheck out Hollywood area (Animation)
4:15 Aladdin show
Dinner Rainforest Café 6:30
Swim at hotel

Friday September 18, 2009
Hours DL 9-Mid/DCA 10-8
Breakfast outside park (IHOP?)I would not do it, everyone says terrible and super expensive! I think McDonalds Deluxe breakfast is better with pancakes eggs and sausage, or Mimi's of courseEnter DL at park opening (be there by 8:30)
Fantasyland
Oh, I know, better plan yet, eat a snack at hotel, then do Fantasyland and at 10 or so head to Tomorrowland and do their breakfast which is just great and very reasonable and catch the 10:30 show, which everyone says is easier to get picked in anyhow??

11:35a Jedi training academy/lunch TomorrowLand Terrace
Back to hotel for Swim and rest
Pirates Lair
Mark Twain Riverboat – ask to Pilot
5:15p Billy Hill and the Hillbillies show and dinner at Golden Horseshoe
Silhouettes

9:25p fireworks

Sarah, you will have a wonderful time. I know with your kid's ages that flexibility is the most important thing, and be prepared to throw the plan out the window:) Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

PS I liked Inoventions and think kids would like it too and it is a great place to go if it is hot.

I would show up for MM. I would be very surprised if the CM did not let you go in with your hubby and kiddos. If not, then maybe he will be courageous enough to go with out you? I wouldn't be surprised at all. The only way AP holders can get MM is by staying onsite. Even if you are staying onsite, they make each individual person show proof of staying there. I honestly don't think it's worth waking up earlier to risk it, especially if you are spending that many days at DLR anyway.

I agree with Tracey, I can pretty much guarantee that the turnstile CM will let you in with your family to MM. They are not in the practice of breaking up families. ;) I'd personally go for it, since MM is my very favorite time in the parks.
