After reading here I see that DLP is not as planning intensive as WDW in Florida. However, we only have 1 day for the parks and I'd like to make sure we hit the highlights. We are taking the train in on a Tuesday in June to spend one day split between the parks. We are trying to focus on rides that we don't have in Florida with exceptions for a favorite or two.

We will be 3 adults and 1 child (age 9) and we have been to WDW a few times.
I am thinking of starting at Studios since Disneyland has extended AM hours for resort guests that day.

Here is our high level plan. I am very open to feedback/ your input.

Thanks,
Ashley

9:45am

ARRIVE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS

Park Opens at 10am

STUDIOS

10:10am- Crush's Coaster

10:50am-Ratatouille
If not too bad of a wait, ride. Otherwise try for a fast pass.

11:30am- Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop

12:15pm-Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin

BONUS- Both Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster are in this park. Trying to focus on rides that are NOT in Florida. But if we have time, there is a fast pass for both and we could try to squeeze them in

1:30pm-I’d like to try to be in the Disneyland Park by the early afternoon

2:00pm-Indiana Jones Ride
If line is long try for a fast pass

3:00pm- Les Voyages de pinocchio

3:40pm-Meet Mickey Mouse

4:15pm-
La Taniere du Dragon

4:30pm-Buzz Light Year

5:15pm- Autopia

There are plenty of other rides in DLP that we could ride if waits are less than anticipate

Its a Small World
Dumbo
Phantom Manor
Keelboats

6-6:30pm -Plan to have dinner either in the park or in the village if done with the parks

8:00pm-By about 8pm or so we likely want to be headed back to Paris

Hi,

The gates for the studios will open at 9.30 i would arrive earlier so that you can go straight to crush.
With opening it often has a waiting time up to 60 min.
This is often also for Ratatouille, so after crush i would take a fast pass for crush and do the other things in the studios untill your return times for Ratatouille or go for the single rider line for eiher crush or Ratatouille.

Toy soldier is also popular and can have a long line.

Maybe try downloading one of the apps od disneyland paris or dlrp express on a phone or tablet there you can see the waitingtimes maybe you can figure out if you schedule will work for you.

Thanks so much for your input. I appreciate the insight on the earlier time. I will make a note to take an earlier train so that we can be all set to enter the park and hustle over to Crush. That's a good idea for Ratatouille as well. I have used some wait time websites to try to sketch out a tentative plan including http://dlrpr.com/waits/waltdisneystudios.php but the times tend to vary. I've seen it say Crush would be a 2 hour wait but then see it being less than 1/2 hour.

I guess we'll plan for the highlights and then try to work in some extras when we have shorter than anticipated waits.

Thanks Again for the input. I appreciate it.

Hi, sounds like some good stuff - added my thoughts to your plan - hope it's useful :)

9:45am
Try and arrive earlier if you can. The gates will open at 9:30 and queue for Crush will get big very, very quickly. Also, be prepared for the ride not be working immediately - you might be lucky and it will start loading early but equally there may be tech problems and you may find yourself stuck with a very long wait.

ARRIVE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS

Park Opens at 10am

STUDIOS

10:10am- Crush's Coaster - as above

10:50am-Ratatouille
If not too bad of a wait, ride. Otherwise try for a fast pass. Fast passes run our really quickly. If one of you can run down and get passes whilst the others wait for Crush it would be a good idea. We always use the single rider line instead of waiting for fast pass. Our son (11) is fine using it too. The rats hold 6 passengers so they always fill up the other rats with single rider line - you can be on an off in 10 minutes!

11:30am- Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop - slow loader - again use single rider line if you can

12:15pm-Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin - quick loader, very quick ride, approx 45 seconds....fun but missable

BONUS- Both Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster are in this park. Trying to focus on rides that are NOT in Florida. But if we have time, there is a fast pass for both and we could try to squeeze them in - agree

If you have time please don't miss Cinemagique! It's a fabulous screen show about the movies and something we never miss!

1:30pm-I’d like to try to be in the Disneyland Park by the early afternoon

2:00pm-Indiana Jones Ride - generally not long wait times. Nothing like WDW ride (so i've heard) and very short coaster
If line is long try for a fast pass

3:00pm- Les Voyages de pinocchio - very missable.......honestly with only 1 day I wouldn't bother with this

3:40pm-Meet Mickey Mouse - expect very long lines for this - you might not manage it

4:15pm-
La Taniere du Dragon - walk through - great to visit - also go upstairs in the castle to look round the story of sleeping beauty and lovely view over fantasyland

4:30pm-Buzz Light Year - FP if you can

5:15pm- Autopia - very long lines, slow loader - you'll do well to get on this at this time of day in less than 60 mins

There are plenty of other rides in DLP that we could ride if waits are less than anticipate

Its a Small World - usually ok
Dumbo - expect long lines
Phantom Manor - usually quick
Keelboats - don't think these are there anymore?

6-6:30pm -Plan to have dinner either in the park or in the village if done with the parks

8:00pm-By about 8pm or so we likely want to be headed back to Paris

Not sure what time of year you're visiting - but you should definitely try and stay to watch the nightime show Dreams in front of the castle each night. It starts at park closing time - whatever that is when you're there - and is wonderful :)

Agreed about earlier queue time for the Studios and also about Dreams - it really is one of the best night time shows and well worth seeing if you can manage to get a train afterwards. You don't say when you are visiting so obviously as Julie says, that makes a difference to park closing and also crowds.

We much prefer ToT and Rock n Rollercoaster at DLRP. The former in particular is quite different and you get an amazing glimpse of the whole of DLRP when the lift doors open - it is just a glimpse though! So, I'd definitely try and fit in ToT!

During busy times, FPs go early in the day - presuming you are going while BTM is closed, PP and Indy may have more stress on FPs so I'd get one for one of these - prob PP asap.

I personally wouldn't bother with 'meet Mickey Mouse' if you've done WDW a few times - I know that sounds sacrilege but you could use the time better.

I'd try and do Alice's Labyrinth (it's a walk around but unique to DLRP and the view from the Queen's Castle is amazing), and also the Mad Hatter's teacups - this is quite fast loading but can build up queues at very busy times, most of the time it's OK. It's tame but again, worth doing.

There are other rides I'd skip like IASW as I don't think it's different enough from WDW to warrant it if time is tight, but it's easy for me to say that as I go most years and it's based on what I like!

Hi, sounds like some good stuff - added my thoughts to your plan - hope it's useful :)

Thanks for the feedback. TOR and Rock n Rolldercoaster are my husband's two favorite rides at WDW so I appreciate the insight on the differences between WDW and DLP. I'll try to get those fit in for him.

Yes BTM and PP are both closed for our visit. Our plan is to briskly walk directly to Indy once we are in Disneyland Park.

I was on the fence about meeting mickey. If its the same experience as WDW then I agree it can be skipped. Thanks for the suggestion.

We are going next month!!! End of June and it looks like the park is open until 11pm. We've certainly pulled an all day visit at WDW. I wasn't sure about the train though or if we'd have the energy but I will keep that in mind.

Many thanks to you guys!! The trip is finally starting to come together after many months of planning and preparation.

Honestly, please try not to miss Dreams - it is fabulous and DLRP were the flagship for this kind of light projection. It really is one not to miss.

We thought RnR was more accelerated at DLRP, but went on longer at WDW. If I'm honest, I don't think it's a 'must do' as it's not that brilliant, but I do think your DH should do ToT - it is a FP ride so if you can manage to work that in somehow.

What a shame about BTM and PP as they are so much better than their WDW counterparts. I can't compare to DL as I haven't been - yet!

Be prepared for boards up around the place with the major refurb going on, but try not to look into it too much. I'm sure you'll have fun.

Thanks. I printed out a park map and Marked a Red X through everything that is closed so that my husband and son are prepared for how much will be closed while we are there. I know we will still have a great time and we all agreed that it would be a huge mistake to skip the parks when we are that close. It will be neat to compare/contrast the park with what we've visited in Florida. We have not been to Disneyland in California either.

Remember to take time just st enjoying the scenery too. Disneyland park is beautiful, especially fantasyland. If the weather is good and the storyboats are open its lovely to relax on there. They're ticked at the back of fantasyland beside Casey juniors train :)

That's a good idea. It really doesn't compare to WDW and it is best to treat it as a park in it's own right or you may be disappointed! I like to think of it as Disney with European culture! I know I'm in the minority but I prefer DLRP's MK to WDW's MK - but then we have been brought up with DLRP, my children have gone regularly from babies, so it's like 'home' to us, much like WDW is home to quite a few Americans. I prefer the scale of DLRP, the weather (I just found it hard to cope in Florida's heat and humidity without feeling zapped!) and think that as some of the rides are newer editions, they are just cleverer/more enjoyable - but that's not to say it's all like that - there are things I preferred or liked at WDW which DLRP doesn't have - Epcot blew me away. They are different beasts and it's best to treat them that way.

Agree with Julie - the park is beautiful - the Castle is amazing, such detail. Fantasyland is lovely too, but I have to say, the new additions to FL in WDW are stunning and 'Be our Guest' is the ultimate - super imagining in there! Wish we could have that place in DLRP, and of course, it would fit really well being in France!!

I'm sure you've checked out the thread 'is it worth it for an American to visit Paris' as there are some interesting viewpoints in there.

Overall, it sounds like you've done your homework, know what's coming and are going with a great mindset! :thumbsup2

Thanks DLPdreams- great feedback! We are really excited about seeing it and plan to enjoy it for its own character. I hope to give a review when we get back. I have checked out the post you mentioned.

I have been keeping an eye on wait times via the app on my phone.

We leave 5 weeks from today for Paris and I absolutely cannot wait!
