I booked a room at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista on Palm Parkway for Oct. 7-13. From the reviews I've read, it seems to be a budget-friendly hotel that's close to Disney. Can anyone give me some personal feedback on this hotel? Preferably if you've gone in the past 2-3 months.

Mold problems?
Smells?
Noise? Location of rooms?
Convenience?
Cleanliness?
Friendly staff?
Guests?
Any problems?
Any advice/tips?
Hidden fees?
Safety? In room-safe?

Any and all feedback would be appreciated. I can't change my reservation w/out incurring a $25 fee, but I just want to know what I'm getting into... hopefully nothing too bad. I'm not looking for a Marriot or Sheraton, just a clean, safe, basic place to crash after long days at Disney.

Thanks a lot! I greatly appreciate it!

We stayed in a family-fun suite the first week of February 05. No mold or smell problems in our room. Many of the rooms have been recently renovated so ask for one of these. No hidden fees, no problems, friendly staff. The location is great for an offsite hotel. You can be to DTD within 5 minutes. We rented a car, although the CI does have a shuttle. The continental breakfast was fine for us. One morning we paid the extra to get the hot breakfast buffet. It was less than $20 for our family of 5. There are many good restaurants in the area.

One issue you need to be aware of. Request a room that faces away from the interstate. If you are a light sleeper you can hear the traffic all night. I was the only one of our group this bothered, but if did affect me. Other than that, we found the CI to be a clean, basic, conveniently located hotel. Let me know if there are other questions.

Thanks for the info! I really needed that assurance. I've read so many mixed reviews that I was actually planning on canceling the room and eating the $25 just so I can re-book elsewhere.

How bad is the noise on CI? I'm from the city so I'm kinda used to traffic noise. Should I ask for a pool-view or parking lot room? I'm all for quiet, but I'd much rather hear the traffic than people chatting by the pool or parking lot if that's the case.

Anywho, thanks again for the information!! It's been very helpful!

The pools are on the same side as the interstate. A room facing the parking lot would be the quiet side.

How many days in advance did you make your request for the room? And would you recommend calling or faxing it in? thanks a lot!

We had previously stayed at the Grosvenor resort and Sheraton Safari as we like the Lake Buena Vista area (central for so many things). We decided not to hire a car and relied upon the hotels free shuttle servce. It was great, dropping you off right at the entrance to the parks ready for opening. There were shuttles throughout the day and to bring you home. No problems with teh shuttle service. We had our DS with us (then aged 2).

We took advantage of the free breakfast (not sure if all hotel guests receive complimentary brekkie or it was part of our Virgin holiday package). The rooms were clean and everything worked. We had a room facing the car park and had no problem with noise.

For a budget stay - I'd recommend it.

I've also booked a room in CI , LBV at the end of Oct,2005. How's the shuttle bus service to WDW? Is it available and punctual? Do I need to request the quiet room earlier?

The buses were punctual. We used them all week. We only had one delay when returning from Universal. (About 30 min wait). The trips throughout WDW were great.

Depending upon on how busy the hotel is (in December the bus also picked up guests from the neighbouring hotel) you may want to make sure you give yourselves enough time to be near the front of the queue.

Thanks for the info Hodkys!

Would a room facing the pool and fountain be too noisy? From the pictures on CI's website, the view seems to be gorgeous!

Thanks again! :cool1:
