feedback in regards to renting out points...

I have a situation which may prompt me to want to rent out some of our points (something we've never done).

I just went ahead and reserved a week for us at BCV for next February. However, our entire extended family is talking about planning a Disney Cruise for next June.

I've heard that using points for a cruise isn't really a good deal and I'm almost considering trying to rent out our points and use the money to help pay for the cruise.

Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, advice?

We've rented out points, and I always am sure to state the cancellation policy you want to have(possibly no cancellation or 35 days out, etc to cover yourself). I think some have now even moved into using forms, etc. Also I have had people change their minds on dates, rooms, etc. a few times so it can get to be a bit of work on the phone calling, etc. But it wasn't too bad...just be aware.

I think probably the only time in the future that I would probably rent points is to pay for the cruise. I know it would be a hassle, but the cost would seem to save a significant amount(for us, anyway).

Our experience with renting points (as the renter) was wonderful. It prompted us to purchase on the same vacation where we first stayed at OKW.
