Fed Up With Target Club Wedd

I would add that Flat Screen tvs are far more practical than china patterns. lol

I registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Dillard's, and Target. Target was THE WORST. Wait until you have to return something. Thinking back on it I should have just stayed with BBB and Dillard's, but some of things that I had registered for were very overpriced at BBB and I wanted my guest to have different places to choose from

The more I read about the Disney Honeymoon registry, the more I am leaning to that!

That's EXACTLY what I did and for that very reason!! But I too wish I wouldn't have gone with Target. Another problem with Target is that people wouldn't show them the registry (b/c it's not very easy or convenient to do so!) and then I ended up with like 3 of many items instead of just 1!! So then I had to face the nightmare of returning items back to the store. :sad2:

Ok, you convinced me, NO Target! I do not want to deal with any of that drama and no one has told me anything good yet. Some of my relatives and fiance's live in the middle of nowhere so I worry about what they have access to now.

DO NOT open registry at targets, unless you know that all your guests are perfect at keeping their receipts, including gift receipts and making sure that they or the store clerk has removed it from the registry! You can’t be responsible for all your guests and the store clerk following through and w/o that receipt targets will make it impossible to return your duplicate items.

Daughter opened her registry in Jan. and wedding was aug 10, they did not allow items over $20 to be returned even when purchased off the registry. we also had the problem of them not being removed, this makes me think part of the blame for not removing items from the registry is the fault of target, as they scan the paper and sometimes it doesn't scan properly. They refused to give us store credit. 3 Blenders (only sold at targets!) they are $29.99- $9.99 over their $20 limit. Is is my daughter's fault that targets did not remove it or that her guest may have forgotten to have it removed???? Does that mean we should inform all our guests that they must attach a targets receipt. As far as paying attention to their registry??? How were we to know if any one had purchased it????, so we could remove it? Anyways, store mgr and corporate office said the same out of luck! THis is a new policy started on AUG.1, thus previous posters may not have had this problem.

This is there email response to me from the corporate office:
“If you don't have a receipt, we still have a few options for you:

- Your local store will accommodate two no receipt returns a year for you on small gifts under $20.
- We have the ability to look up a receipt's information for the gift giver, so they can make a return on most purchases, provided they purchased your item with a check, Target GiftCard, credit or debit card within the past 90 days.
- If the gift giver still has the original receipt for the item, they have the ability to reprint a gift receipt at the Guest Service desk next time they visit Target.” “I'm sorry if you feel our last e-mail reply wasn't satisfactory, but we aren't able to further assist you with your return. “

MANY other people are having the same problem it is all over the wedding forums, and consumer forums.

well this isn't good news. That was going to be the only place we were going to register other than Disney. Unfortunately, his family doesn't live in a city so the closet thing is WalMart and a Target, one of the many reasons why I was choosing target. I really didn't want to register at Walmart although my finace does. I really liked Target's prices and items. Oh well. Dunno what I am going to do now.:confused3

I also do not recommend Target Club Wed. I work at David's Bridal and my brides complain about it all the time. Because of this I will not be going there. Bed Bath & Beyond has an awsome and easy registry :thumbsup2

Registry wise, I cannot say enough GREAT things about Bed Bath and Beyond!

DF broke my T-Fal deep fryer not even a week after our bridal shower, BBB were awesome about taking it back, and your registry serves as your reciept.

Also we moved the week prior to our bridal shower from our apartment into our first house, and a package of towels ordered from our registry never showed up at the new house.
We made a trip up to our local BBB and I got my towels from UPS the very next day. BBB even called later that week to make sure I recieved them and we were happy with them.

I also did all of my BBB registry online. We didn't add anything in store, just via their website. It worked out great, and DF wasn't miserable scanning items.

We also did Kohl's and though I only needed to return one item from there, they were great customer service wise. Fast and efficent.

I was going to do Target, but I read so many horror stories online, we decided against it.
