SO we just got back a few days ago from our wonderful trip! let me start by saying HOJO was AWESOME! so we got there on tuesday the 24th. we were in vegas before that, i grew up there so we took a trip there as well and drove to anaheim. only took about 4 1/2 hours like it always has. we checked into hojos that evening into a kids suite. the room was amazing! it was so clean and comfy, and im a bit of a hotel snob so really when i say awesome its pretty darn good! the pools were fun too! :) the weather was beautiful the whole time by the way. it rained at night the first disney day but we left at night anyways with a toddler. so our first day in the park was wednesday. it was great. we didnt wait longer than 5-10 min for anything accept about 15 for space mountain. but until about 1 that day almost everything was walk on because people thought it was gonna pour so no one was there. we happened to drive and park the first day for my mothers convenience as she was there the first day and the CM said we could have free parking, and just not to tell anyone, because if it poured we might leave. great! so overall, wonderful day! didnt see too many characters but minnie and my lil guy liked her lol. second day there, still slow and fun! again low wait time for most everything! we had so much fun. we did MM this day and got more chance for characters when park opened for MM. then, we headed over to cali adventure. i had never been there before. we went only monsters inc only. i wasnt overly impressed and we left quickly. something didnt feel good there i was a bit bored and it was too loud with music blaring. i did wanna try TOT and soarin and some other stuff but i just had to get out of there it was too loud and stuff. maybe next time we will give it more of a chance. there was also construction going on and that noise didnt help! on day 3 we went for half a day we left about 2. it was busier that day of course, it was a friday. but we still did a share of rides. overall it was great. we had dole whips and dole whip floats alot lol and dh got a corn dog which was GREAT! we ate at the hungry bear. it was pretty good :) overall the trip was great. we headed to sea world the next day but got poured out. oh well cause we are now planning vacay for disneyworld next jan/feb. i have been to DL several times, this was DH AND DH first time. dh wasnt overly wowed and he is not converted to a disneyaholic but that goes with everything. he is not an excitable person and doesnt care much for any theme parks. compared to others we had been too though he liked it alot and is excited to try DW. neither of us have been there. any tips on DW im open to advice! our lil guy is a year and a half, he LOVED pirates and haunted mansion. he liked everything but those seemed to be his favorites, he laughed and got soooo excited after them! it was great!

Yay for what sounds like all in all a fun trip! Have fun plannin' for WDW we visited there last Oct. and I actually prefer DLR especially for little ones. If you won't be able to make it to WDW for quite awhile after you would visit next year I'd maybe wait till your DS was older ~ my kids are/were 9 & 6 when we visited. Maybe you could stick with DLR for the next few years. Cute fotos ~ you have a lovely family.

Glad you had a fun trip! It's fun to see Disneyland through the eyes of your little ones. And ditto on the Kids' Suite at HoJo. :)

Glad you had a great trip! My 16 yo and I were there at the same time as you (I think) and had a wonderful time.
