February or May?

All right, I thought I was all set with this, but now I'm having my doubts...

I am not sure if we should go in Feb or May. I would like it to be rather on the cooler side, because I easily get headaches in the sun. But I also don't want it to be so cold that we are all shivering. The last time we went in January and even with our heavy winter coats, we FROZE at the MK. It was awful! And we were only able to use the pools very briefly. So I figured let's go in May. Now I'm reading some trip reports where people are saying they melted into the pavement in May, it was so hot.

Can you guys comment about those two months? I don't want to go in March or April due to the crowds and the prices. Also, I believe the parks are more important than the pool (we could go to a pool anywhere!), so I'm now leaning back towards Feb. HELP!!

I've been there in May and it was VERY hot and humid. I'd definitely go in February. By the way, we love going in March. We usually go the second week and it's not as crowded as people think then. The weather is usually in the low 70's, which is super. Only thing is the resorts are at peak prices, so if you have AAA you can use that for a discount.

May will be warm. February may be warm and it may be cold. There's no way of knowing about the winter months until right before you go.

If you want to know what the weather will be before you book your trip, don't go in the winter months!

I've been the last two years in May and in 2006 we're trying February for a change. In 2004 we were melting every day. They were in the middle of a heat wave for Florida, and the temps never got below 90, and this was the first two weeks of May. This year it was also very hot, but not quite as bad. Like you, I sometimes get heat headaches, and I'm tired of sweltering as I tour the parks, so we're trying February this year. I hope it's warm enough for swimming, but if not, at least I won't look like a wet dishrag.

I was there the first week of March and the weather was great. It was a bit cool (coat weather) a couple of the evenings, but it was shorts weather the rest of the time.

I was also there the last week of May. The weather was warm and humid, but didn't get to be hot and uncomfortable until the last couple of days.

Just there the first week of Feb. of 2005, and we swam in the pools and rented water mice without being cold two of our five days. I thought the weather was great during the day. It got a little too cold for me at night, but I prefer hotter weather. I would definitely go in Feb. again though because of the crowed levels and bearable colder nights. The year before we were there in early May and it was hot - we swam every day. Again, I loved it because I prefer the heat to the cold.
