Has anyone gone around the end of February or first week of march? What is the weather, crowds like? Also are a lot of rides closed around thus time since its off season?thanks

We are planning to go around the same time next year, so I'll post here to see what kind of responses you get!! :) I've only gone at Halloween time inthe recent years.

I just checked http://www.anaheimoc.org/conventioncalendar/index.asp and it doesn't look like any major conventions are in the area at those times. so crowds should be fine. We love traveling off season. You might need your winter woolies while watching WOC or Fantasmic, but I'd rather do that than fight crowds during the heat.

BTW, Cafe Orleans makes heavenly hot chocolate!

DLR hasn't announced which rides will be closed for refurb during that time.

There is a good thread about high season and low season. You might want to look at it as it covers the pitfalls of going when crowds are small.

It's also during the wet season, while not a monsoon it's handy to bring a rain coat and be prepared that it can happen. Also it's cool so pants and light jackets might be needed.

We went end of Feb. early March last year. The weather was mild, though we did have rain one whole day we were there (didn't slow us down). The crowds were not that bad, the longest wait we had was 45 min. for Soaring. I would go again that time of year, no questions asked!

Feb/Mar is a good time to go. As was already posted, it is definately cooler so you'll want to have jackets and rain panchos as it could rain and when it does it tends to be a cold rain.

There are closures for rides/attractions every year during that time, but there are no specifics as yet. Just plan on a fair number being closed.

Keep in mind too that while lines will be shorter, DL doesn't have as many CMs working either. Queues that usually move very quickly will move much more slowly. Fireworks go to weekends only, park hours are shorter, etc.

That said, it is still a very good experience. Just set your expectations appropriately.

We've gone and Feb and had a delightful time! It's sprinkled on us and it's been sunny too. Your best bet is to wear layers and be patient. Like a pp said, there tend to be less CM's as well as attendees. We're planning on doing it again in 2012 ;)

first week in march has been very good as far as the park not being very busy

we went feb this yr superbowl weekend while we got a lot done it was very busy but the weekdays are dead.

Some times theres a cheerleading thing happening at that time of year, but it's only on the weekends. Weekdays are great.

Take a sweater for mornings and evenings, but other then that it's generally fine.

There usually are some rides shut, but it's never that bad. I think one year I was there Jungle Cruise and IASW were shut, and JC opened while we were there, so we got to ride it anyway.
