February Diners at the Castle - help please!

Does anyone feel that it seems strange that a 9 year old will pay less and get a sword/wand, while a 10 year old is charged adult price and does not get anything, I know that would not go over well with my 2 girls(8 and 10). So I am waiting to hear experiences and how it was handled, he for those prices I want a tiara for myself. :jester: or a jester hat, I could not find a smilie with a tiara..... :rotfl:

I think handing out swords and wands to any child that wants it would be nice. My 2 yo will not get one which I fully understand as we're not paying for him - but for $150+ I am hoping they throw me an extra one so he doesn't feel left out :) If not - I'll just try and buy him one somewhere

I am going to be there 3rd of march for my wifes b'day on the wednesday hoping to be in while the fireworks go off!!! Hope adults can get the wands and swords!!!!

We'll be eating dinner here in 24 hours and I still have not heard any news from a diner.... Well, I guess I'll be the one to supply the report. More news from WDW...

We'll be eating lunch there tomorrow at 1:15 but, I won't be around a computer until the 13th or so..... I was soooo hoping to hear something!

I'm anxious too to hear about the new changes for all the meals. Our trip is in July and may be making an ADR for one of the meals.

The wishing presentation is a 7 minute mini-show with the Fairy Godmother giving a monologue about wishes coming true as well as helping to point out those with special celebrations. Suzy and Perla flitter around the resturant encouraging guest interactions and reacting to the Fairy Godmother. When everyone makes a wish, the ceiling fills with little twinking strobelights.

I'll be there a lot- they only trained 10 of us for the time being.

Thanks for the info about the wishing presentation:) I was waiting to see if I could talk my mom into dinner at the Castle for our mother/daughter May trip. That pretty much clinched it - I'm slowly but surely turning her over to the Disney side of the force - lol!

I am subscribing to this as I made March dinner ressies at the castle.

I have a question about this wishing ceremony show. When I made my ADR with CRO, the lady read me the spiel about it and made it sound like the dinner was really for people that are celebrating something. The characters and fairy godmother ONLY approach people that are celebrating to help them celebrate etc. otherwise they do not come to your table.

I was kind of thinking this may be a disappointment to my two daughters as they may feel left out since we are not there for any special occasion. So I am picturing us sitting there watching the FGM and other characters dote on everybody else in the room and my kids are asking me why not them.... Did anybody else get that kind of info from the CM?? I am actually debating ordering a cake "just because" ;) so the Fairy Godmother will visit our table. As everybody says - for that much $$$... (it is costing about $200 for my family of 5)

??????? :confused3 ??????

March lunch ADR holders subscribing and excited!

No, that's not true at all! They do single out those with celebrations, but the characters float around to all the tables and encourage everyone to join in during the presentation. Everyone will receive a pretty pre-signed card with their autographs

Suzy and Perla do a very quick flitter to each family (no posing for pics or signing autograhs, just a hello) before the Fairy Godmother comes out, and there are moments for everyone. I don't want to spoil too many surprises though.

I am dying to hear any reviews too!!! We're going on the 15th for breakfast!

:cool1:

:thumbsup2 thanks for reply about the wishing presentation, we will be there in Sept. celebrating our 20th anniversary. thanks for the details !! :wizard:

AngieBelle - Thanks for the info. :) I understand about you not wanting to spoil any surprises! ;) I figured we would give this new dinner a try - I really think Disney does everything great. People complained and worried over the new Ohana menu, but I LOVED it!! :goodvibes Until I read your posts, I wasn't even aware Suzy & Perla would be at the castle for dinner. I don't think the ADR CMs know too much, either!! It will be a fun surprise for us all.

Sorry to ask again, but do you really think I don't need to order a silly cake "just because"?? I would feel kind of goofy ordering one just to insure they are included in the celebrations - waste of money and kind of over the top. Will my little girls still feel part of the party even if we aren't celebrating anything other than about our 50th WDW trip - and I am not kidding we love that place!!

I have time to hear reviews and so maybe soon we will know more of what it is like I suppose. I am looking really forward to trying something NEW!!

Thanks!

We3disneygo--we'll be there for our 20th in Sept too! Our very first WDW experience, in Sept 2001, was dinner in the Castle, so we thought it would be the perfect place to celebrate this year!

Angie do you have your feb schedule or is it down week to week. We will be there for dinner on the 28th to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Would love to meet you. :sunny:

Nah, there's no need to order a big cake. The tables that the Fairy Godmother approaches are random. It's really just a matter of luck. But she speaks to the entire resturant (she wears a microphone and is an equity performer), and the part with the wish-making isn't about the parties celebrating something, it's about believing in your dreams. Your daughters shouldn't feel left out.

Sorry, I don't have my schedule for the end of Feburary yet. I get them weekly- today I'll get my schedule for the week ending the 18th. If you send me a pm when it gets closer, I'll tell you if I'll be there or not.

There are review under a different thread. Look there!!

But Dinner quick review: No swords or wands. Picture package was great. One Large photo in presentation folder and one smaller one for each member of the party. Great litho of the castle decorated for the Happiest Celebration on Earth with Fairy Godmother, Cinderella and her Prince. Good food choices. Appetizers were great!! Entrees- Meat good, sides ordinary. Great Service. Perla, Suzy and Fairy Godmother do a quick set - 15 minutes or so. Hard to see if sitting by the windows. No individual interaction - go to breakfast for that.
