I have a trip scheduled for Feb 6th-10th. I noticed that there is still availability at almost all resorts (excluding the All-Stars) for that time period. Should I take this as a sign that WDW will be less crowded? We have traveled to WDW several times during the same time period and there usually isn't much, if any, resort availability this close to the trip.

I personally use crowd calendars and annual pass blockout dates to help determine possible crowds during any trip timeframe. Many, many park goers are either local/FL passholders or aren't staying in a WDW resort.

The crowd calendar on Touring Plans website is 5s and 6s that week. So lowish but there will be plenty of people there.

I personally don't view WDW resort occupancy as a major leading indicator of park crowds. Sure they contribute some, but park guest count is highly influenced by many other factors - off site guests, locals, events, conventions in town, conventions on property, AP blackout dates, ticket prices, school calendars, etc etc.

FWIW, I just searched Christmas week - one of the 'busiest' times of the year in the parks - and nearly every resort is available.

That said, early Feb is more in that lower crowd level zone before Winter Breaks/President's Day/Mardi Gras, runD events kick in mid/late month, so slightly lower crowds on the margins.

I think a lot of it has to do with Spring Break schedules, along with when Easter falls (sometimes in early March, but this year in April). School schedules vary around those events from year to year. ...at least it does where I live. I think we also have a week of state testing during that period as well that makes travel hard with school-aged children.

Presidents Day is Feb 16th. I've found that the weeks before or after a federal holiday tend to have low crowds. Your dates avoid the busy Presidents Day crowd. :)
