Just added our cabin number. I doubled checked my ressie online and we were switched to the main dinner seating - WooHoo!! So for all of you who are waitlisted for early dinner, you may want to check it out. I'm still holding out hope for a visit from the upgrade fairy! :thumbsup2

Okay, the DISmeet... I have zero suggestions but want to say I would love to be there. We plan on getting to the port early so any time will work for us.

That's too funny that we have a Jason on the ship! LOL Just be sure he leaves the hockey mask at home.

Michelle, that's great news! I don't know what we'd do without main dining. We always eat early, usually we're finished with dinner and cleaned up by 6 at the very latest! lol So technically even the main dining is late for us!

I have all my fingers crossed for an upgrade. But I'll be happy either way. We were upgraded on our Wonder cruise and even though it was only from a 6 to a 5 it still felt very special.

Without me going thru and checking all the cabin numbers (yes, I'm being lazy) what category is everyone in? We're in SPH which is considered cat 10. Still a little nervous about that because of being without a verandah. But hopefully we'll love it anyhow!

Hi Everyone - I used my 1st name back a few posts ago but I'm not sure I ever officially introduced myself.

I'm Dee, short for a name I can hardly remember because I've been Dee (except for official stuff) since I was about 6 month old.

As for my cabin #...I have to look it up but maybe if I ignore that I have a cabin already the upgrade fairy will visit us again! We were upgraded on our Feb '08 cruise from deck 6 to 7 but when we paid for our cruise the room was a GTY not an actual cabin #. I wish I knew how upgrades work. Do you have a chance of an upgrade if you have a cabin #?

Who ever it was that just got moved to main dining...you can thank me! I just called the other day and asked to be changed from main to late. So I made room for you  . I know it probably sounds crazy having later seating with a 9 and 6 year old but it just seems that we'd be too rushed to get back to our room every night to get ready for a 6pm-ish seating.

We had a 8pm seating in Feb '08 and it was late and we did go to bed almost right after but we had a full day. I've got to share with you how nice the dining staff was to our DS who was 5 at the time. He was always sleeping through dinner (he was a major napper in the earlier part of this year and so he was crashing) so the 1st night the dining manager and assistant (I'm guessing) made him a bed with chairs facing each other and a pillow made from folded table cloths with a table cloth as a blankie. They automatically did this for him every night as soon as they saw him enter the restaurant. Our cruise was very wavy and one night was especially a tad bit rough. They tied his bed together with napkin linens because they noticed, luckily before their was a problem, that his bed was separating. 4 wait staff came running over and secured his little bed while he remained sleeping. I don't think you'd get this attention to detail and magic on every cruise line!

As for a name for our Delightful DisMeeters, I don't know. Ooh:idea: , what about that...Delightful DisMeeters,. That just rolled right off my typing fingers. What is that called stream of consciencness (sp?). I like the other suggestions as well. I'll throw mine into the ring for consideration. I was originally just going to mention the Valentine Voyagers but I'll include The Delightful DisMeeters as well.

I guess we'll have to make yet another list of all of the suggestions. I am such a list person it isn't funny!:upsidedow

I guess that's it for now...I know you are all saying, "Yes, Dee...quite enough. Get off already!";)

Here ya go! Feel free to add to the list - Dee

Valentine Voyagers
Delightful DisMeeters
Caribbean Sunseekers
Caribbean Crazies
The Love Boat
Cupid's Cruise
Cupid's Western (or Caribbean) Getaway
Cupid's "Magic"al Voyage
Sailors of Fortune
The Lucky Thirteens
No Black Cats Cruise
Western Wackiness
Bringing Back Cupid from the Caribbean
Wintertime Western

Dee, that's wonderful what your servers did for your ds! So cute!

On our Feb 07 cruise we had a room number but we were still upgraded. (also from deck 6 to 7! how funny!) It was a nice surprise. And I swore we'd stay in that room again... Room 7098. It was the best location. But I digress... the funds for us didn't work out this time.

Can you believe that people sailing only a month prior to our cruise are now getting upgrades? You know what that means... This time next month we'll hopefully be surprised too! :)

Yep, it's me again... lol

I just read that the gangway at Port Canaveral that was damaged last weekend may take up to 8 weeks to repair. OMG!! I am really, really wanting it to be ready for our cruise. That was one of my favorite parts from our first cruise... walking into the atrium and having our named called. I still get goosebumps thinking about it. Please, please, please let them hurry up and fix it!

Amanda, what happened to the gangway? I agree about the goosebumps but I must admit I went a bit further and had actual tears down my cheeks. I am just a goon that way.

Also, how do you find out these tidbits? How did you find out about new ressies getting upgrades already? You amaze me with your info :worship:

Dee, I believe it was damaged last weekend, when the Wonder was docked. There was a bad storm and it broke the mooring lines holding the Wonder. There is a forum on the main cruise page, that is talking about it. The pics don't look very good and I was glad that no one was hurt. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they are able to fix it before we board in Feb.

Amanda, good to hear that someone else is watching the dis to see what is going on!!!

Thanks deedeedubs for the early dinner time!! We booked our cruise in June using our DVC points and by that time the main dinner seating was booked. I wasn't looking forward to late dinner with a 4 year old and a 4 month old!

We are in a category 9 - an oceanview. I've never cruised this category before and I've never been on deck 2 before. Usually we do a category 6 or 11 on deck 6. A couple of time we've have the category 7 "special room" (7120) on deck 7. I'd love an upgrade, but in 9 cruises I've never had one, so I don't think it will happen.

I'm not too clever with names. Maybe something like "Mickey's Magical Valentines" or something like that. I like including something Disney in the title.

Dee, I'm really not doing anything extraordinary... lol Just reading the main board like Pam mentioned. I do more reading than I do responding, and it helps me keep up with what's going on with the Magic or the most recent cruises.

Here's a link the post about the mooring lines that broke on the Wonder last weekend: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2022493

And I hear ya about the tears when boarding... I have the Disney Cruise special from the Travel Channel on DVR and whenever I rewatch it I completely tear up. My dh thinks I'm nuts and laughs at me. But I can't help it! There is just something special about Disney that makes me fill with JOY!

Michelle, forgive me if you've answered this before (I really need to go back and reread this whole thread to refresh who's who and what's what...), but have you sailed in February before? If so what was the weather like?

Did you see that Orlando has been cold, cold, cold, lately? Well, cold for Florida anyhow! We know two people that were in Disney World this past week for their very first trips. I guess they were in for a bit of a shocker when the weather was quite chilly.

Oh, update on our fuel surcharge... Um, we booked prior to when Disney started it so (duh me!) we aren't owed anything back! Shoot. LOL At least we didn't pay it but now we won't be getting any extra onboard credit either!

I haven't sailed in February before, but I have sailed in January and early March. I remember the weather being very comfortable, not too hot, not too cold. Being from New England we were wearing shorts and were fine. I forget temperatures.

Reminder that this is the post from MyLove4Disney where she so graciously put together everyone's information. It's a nice little refresher (aka cheat sheet!). ;)

Thanks for the reminder, I have updated the posts regularly. I changes some color to help with the ID and Room numbers and arrival dates to help read it better. If anything needs to be changes let me know. We can use it for a list for the dis meet. In the past dismeets have been in the lounge on deck 3 or deck 3 at the enterance of Luminars at the Mickey Statue. We took a group picture on the steps there were about 100 of us, It was great.

I bought material for my FE today! It's going to be so purty! And I bought a few things to make some goodies for the FEs.

PLUS I'm now doing magnets for our door. I hadn't planned on it but I can't seem to pass up the urge!

Hello everybody! I'm Lauren and my DH is James. We just booked our cruise last week. So last minute I know! Unfortunately we had to wait until DH knew he could have 8 days off in a row for sure. DH is a surgery resident and I'm a dentist. We're both so excited to be on this cruise with all you wonderful people :goodvibes

We went on our first cruise/Disney cruise last June for our honeymoon. Well, on our 6 month anniversary we found out that we have something else to celebrate on this cruise.... because we're welcoming our first addition to the family late summer 2009:cheer2: So this Feb cruise will be our babymoon and I will be 15 weeks along! I'm a little nervous but at least nausea is very mild now so hopefully no motion sickness in February.

I tried to read the last several pages of posts but it's a little late to be getting in the game. So here's a little info on us.

Home Location->Morgantown, WV
DCL Home Location-> 7092

We're totally up for a dismeet... we didn't get a chance to do it last cruise. I'd also like to participate in the FE. So add us to the list :goodvibes

Hello everybody! I'm Lauren and my DH is James. We just booked our cruise last week. So last minute I know!

Welcome to our cozy group. I have added you to our full list on thread 136.

Hey everyone we are going to be in good hands two Dr.s with us so now no one will get hurt or break a tooth, but if we do. Lauren and James will sure to fix us up. Thanks ahead of time....:rotfl:

Any how...
If you are sinsative to motion sickness even without being pregers the first night is always a bit more ruff seas. Check with your dr. or hubby about what you might be able to get for motion sickness should you need something that first night.

Others on here may give you some advice on something that is natural to used as well.

I don't get motion sick on the ship I guess, our second DCL there were very large waves and galeforce winds one of the days, for much of the day. Many of the Castmembers were getting sick during the cruise, even one of the main CM of the theater show couldn't go on, they had to have someone else do his part.

As you can see it was not cold, just really windy and wet.
This was an eastern 2nd week of Jan 2006.

But just the next day it was beautiful.. at St. Martin

and more dd with her ipod listening the opera music and island music, I could hardly get it out of her ear. (she is a voice major in college)

OK, now that is a taste of the eastern the only route I have done on DCL. Can't wait to the experience the Western.

Any Pictures of others that have done the western during the month of Feb.

Please count us in for FE's!!! It'll be myself, my DH and 2 DS's (4 and 6). They'll be so excited to participate :-) I've never done this before-- what kinds of things do we bring?

Lauren-- We're neighbors in Wheeling :-) Have a few friends down your way and a bunch of my high school grads from work at WVU. I get to go down every once in awhile for trainings and stuff too. Soooo... Just wanted to say "hi, neighbor!"

I had a quick question about the lucky early upgrades... How do you find out that you got one? Or do you just look on your ressies on the website? I'm crossing my fingers for a room switch because we didn't get the kind of room I requested-- I think she just gave me whatever came up. And we made our ressies through DVC so I can't change it without a $95 fee unless I get the "luck of the draw..." So when my fingers are blue in Feb, you'll know it's because I've been crossing them between now and then!!!!

I just read about the $99 deal... TOTALY COOL! So we'll get a voucher for it on Board? YAY! I had heard about the offer but wasn't sure how it would work.

And I booked Palo for MOnday night. What is funny is I went to bed and figured if I woke up at midnight, it was meant to be. I woke up literally at 12:02 AM so I went crazy booking stuff. Very exciting even if a little groggy!

Can't wait everyone - wow - Christmas and then CRUISE....:santa:

MyLove4Disney - Thanks! Hopefully everyone can keep their teeth intact and don't need me or my husband. Expecially considering that he does surgery... you really don't want to need him :rotfl:

JRandAJsMom - Wheeling is so close! Nice to have some fellow Mountaineers on the cruise :goodvibes

Have we decided what we're bringing for the FE? I want to start buying stuff but wasn't sure if there was going to be a theme or if we were only going to do certain days.
