February 4th, 2012 MAGIC 7 night Western cruise

Our family will be joining you all as well on this cruise! This will be our first time cruising with Disney. DH, DD 12, DS 9 and myself can't wait!! After this winter in Jersey we can't get away quick enough!!

Watch out! Once you start cruising it becomes addicting, then you start going to WDW before the cruise, then you tack on a few days at WDW after the cruise.......and so it begins.....

Unless if you are married to my DH, I booked a night before the cruise near the port and also booked a night after the cruise at WDW. My DH didn't want to stay the extra night at WDW so I ended up cancelling that night. He wants to head home after we get off the ship.

I'm so excited about going on a Disney cruise, this is my second cruise and my first on a Disney cruise. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone, doing FEs, and everything that goes along with a Disney cruise. Can't wait.

We have cruise before with Carnival and Royal Carribbean many times but have yet to experience the "Disney way". This will be Our first Disney cruise and it's actually a birthday present who turns 5 on the day we set sail. He does not know yet. :sail:

We have cruised with carnival and norwegian, but we keep coming back to disney. it's just the special things they do-pirate party, private island, rotating dinning rooms, and a magical feel. The other lines just don't have that. Not that they are bad, just different!

Speak with the disney cruise line-they can decorate the room and have a cake waiting for birthday celebrations. It was about $50 but it was well worth it! I did it for my husbands 50th on the Dream 2 weeks ago. You can view the package at the web site.

Has anyone successuflly booked accomodations at Disney World for before or after our cruise? When I try by going through the DW web site, it says they aren't doing reservations past 12/31/11. Seems odd and that people would be planning further in advance.

I'm not an expert, but I believe you can not book packages that far out because the prices are not set yet. They usually have a price increase in Aug. You should be able to call and do a room only reservation now for the dates you want. Then adjust your reservation as needed at a later date. And I repeat, i'm not an expert.

We have booked our post-cruise stay, but we are DVC members staying at our villa after the cruise. May be try the DVC rent board if you want to stay at a DVC resort. It is cheaper that way anyway.

Hi everyone! I just booked this cruise over the weekend. This will be our second cruise and we are super excited. It is just me (37) and DH (38).

We´ll stay 7 days before cruise in Old Key West - but we booked via disney UK.
I only have to find out, how we can change transportation from airport into transportation from resort.. :confused3

Just call the cruise line, they are more than happy to change your transportation info. Getting picked up at the resorts is SO easy! They put a letter under the door the night before with your pick up time. But they take the large suitcases earlier, like around 8am so you don't have them on the shuttle bus to the port.

We (My wife, son (Age 6), and I) booked while we were on the Dream last February. We are from Newmarket, Ontario (North of Toronto) and will be going to WDW after the cruise vs. before the cruise this time. Can't wait!

Hi there -

We just had to move our plans from this December to the Feb dates due to our kids schedules. We are looking forward to sailing with all of you.

Our family includes - myself (Jen, 41yr), my husband (Erik, 43yr), my daughter (Emma 10yr) and Simon (8yrs).

We had a great time participating in the FE exchange on our last Disney cruise and are excited to do it again.
:cool1:

Less than 6 months!!!! It's getting closer and closer to our cruise!!!

Just booked this cruise today! We're already so excited and can't wait to go!

This will be our 7th Disney cruise. Our party will be DH, DD-11, DD'sBFF-14 (which will be her first cruise) and me.

We've participated in FE for the last 4 cruises and it's lots of fun. If there's interest, I would be willing to help put that together. Also, for our last cruise, I wrote a Scavenger Hunt to do at the terminal for those of us that like to arrive early and get onboard as soon as we can! I could dig that up again if anyone's interested - it was well received and fun for the whole family.

Looking forward to the trip! :cool1:

Hi Sharon-
Welcome! I vote for you to lead the FE. The scavenger hunt sounds like a great idea too. I did see that on another post -- once upon a time. :)

This is our first cruise, but the FE sounds FUN and something we would be interested in! Keep us updated. I'll help out with anything I can.

:hippie:

Hello all, hailing from the great state of OHIO. This is my first Disney cruise and I am traveling with my daughter and son in law. I have cruised on NCL Epic and I will be cruising on the Carnival Dream in October. I cannot wait to cruise on Disney based on visiting Disney World in Orlando. FUn, Fun, Fun and I am up for the F.E. (whatever that is!)

Anybody who's willing to organize the FE gets my vote. The scavenger hunt sounds interesting, but I'm curious how the new check-in time rules will affect people coming early.
